TM-3100 Series Tachometer Setup Example - 2: "Setting Procedure for Rotation Measurement Using LG-916/930/9200 Rotation Detector"

<Notes on operation instructions>

The menu items in settings mode are "INPUT → MEASURE → FUNCTION → DISPLAY → OUTPUT → OTHER". The settings for each menu item are shown in the flowchart, with selections indicated by a red square and the setting value indicated by a subscript. For items without a red square, press the [SET/NEXT] button to skip them. Follow the arrows in the flowchart to operate the buttons. Explanations of button operations are omitted here; please refer to the <Basic Button Operations> section below.

■Basic button operation

  • A short press of the "MENU" button will return you to the previous item.

  • Press and hold the "MENU" button to switch to measurement mode (display of measured values) from any position.

■Settings

  • INPUT (Input settings)
The [INPUT] section is used to configure settings related to input signal acquisition. Here, we will configure it as follows:

    INPUT TYPEDC
    LOW PASS FILTEROFF
  • After completing the settings, press the [SET/NEXT] button.

  • MEASURE (Settings for measurement functions)
In [MEASURE], you set the measurement method, measurement items, and their conditions. Here, we will assume that one reflective sticker is attached to the shaft of the rotating body, and set the parameters as follows.

    MEASURE MODENORMAL
    MAIN OBJECTROTATION
    ROTATION UNITr/min
    PULSE1 (Number of reflective stickers)
    FACTOR1.00000 × 10E+0

  • FUNCTION (Display method and measurement start/stop)
In [FUNCTION], you configure the display method and settings related to starting and stopping measurements. Here, we will configure the settings as follows:

    AUTO ZERO TIMEOFF
    MOVING AVERAGEOFF

  • DISPLAY (Display screen settings)
In [DISPLAY], you can configure settings related to the number of digits displayed and the display update. Here, we will set it as follows:

    DISPLAY1 LINE
    D.P. POSITIONOFF
    DIGIT FIXED TO 0OFF
    DISPLAY UPDATE1.0s
    BRIGHTNESSMID

  • OUTPUT (BCD, COMP, ANALOG output settings)
The [OUTPUT] section allows you to configure settings for BCD output, comparative output, and analog output. Here, we will configure them as follows:

    BCD OUTPUTMAIN (Displayed Value)
    BCD MODECONTINUE (Continuous updates)
    COMP MODEUPPER LOWER
(Optional settings for each of COMP1, 2, and 3)
UPPER: Measured value ≥ Set value
LOWER: (Measured value < Set value)
COMP UPPER (LOWER)Set the judgment value arbitrarily for each of COMP1, 2, and 3.
    ANALOG OUTPUT MODEVOLTAGE
    ANALOG VOLTAGE RANGE0 ~ 10V
    ANALOG ZERO000000
ANALOG FULLYou can set the display value to 10V as you like.
    ANALOG UPDATE10ms
(Due to the periodic nature of the calculation, if the signal is slow, the voltage change will also be slow.)

  • OTHER (Panel condition preservation)
In [OTHER], you configure settings related to saving/loading configuration conditions, RS-232C, and the option list. The settings are saved in backup memory, but for safety, they are also saved in COND1.

    [Regarding saving settings]

    • Backup memory
Menu settings are saved in backup memory. When the power is turned on, the settings from backup memory are automatically read.
    • CLEAR
This will restore the contents of the backup memory to their initial settings (factory default).
    • CONDITION
The backup memory settings can be saved to COND1.
You can load the data into backup memory using the LOAD operation.
  • Return to measurement
Press and hold the [MENU] button. You will return to the measurement screen and begin the measurement.
