Massflow Measurement System

Fuel Density Meter FD-5110
Digital flow meter FM-3100

High-precision mass flow measurement contributes to improved fuel efficiency (CO2 reduction).

While the electrification of automobiles is progressing, many vehicles are still equipped with internal combustion engines, making improvements in the energy efficiency of internal combustion engines essential.
Developing energy-efficient engines requires accurately understanding the amount of energy input. Converting fuel input to energy consumption requires measuring the mass flow rate of the fuel consumed.
The massflow measurement system, combining the FP-5000 series Flow Detector, the FD-5110 Fuel Density Meter, and the FM-3100 Digital Flow Meter, allows for real-time density measurement and highly accurate mass flow measurement. It also eliminates the complexity of mass flow conversion in various tests.

Features

1. Flow detector: Applicable to alcohol mixed fuel as standard

The FP-5000 series flow detector now comes standard with support for alcohol-blended fuels, which require corrosion resistance that was not necessary for fossil fuels.
*Alcohol-resistant: Changed to a sealant with strong chemical resistance.

  • 1. Flow detector: Applicable to alcohol mixed fuel as standard

2. Improved accuracy in the low flow rate range compared to the FZ series.

When combined with the FP series positive displacement flow detector, it achieves pressure loss of 20 kPa or less (at 60 L/h). The detector can be installed while minimizing pressure fluctuations in the flow path. Compared to the FZ-2200A, the accuracy in the low flow rate range is improved, making it ideal for low flow rate measurements such as startup tests.

3. Smaller and lighter than conventional models, and can be installed near the engine.

Significantly smaller than previous models, it is now easier to install near the engine. Shorter piping distances reduce fuel temperature fluctuations.

  • Achieves mass flow measurement in a smaller space than conventional methods. Compact and lightweight, making it easy to install near the engine.

4. Flow meter: Convert Dens Function
Density value is corrected by fuel temperature flowing through flow detector.

There will be a difference between the fuel temperature measured by the small Fuel Density Meter and the fuel temperature measured by the FP series flow detector. The FM-3100 has a function to correct the density value measured by the small Fuel Density Meter using the temperature measured by the temperature/pressure sensor unit (optional: EH-0830) of the FP series flow detector. This corrects the density value to match the fuel temperature flowing through the flow detector, allowing for a more accurate calculation of mass flow rate.

  • Flow meter: Convert Dens function - Fuel temperature compensation is possible with the optional temperature sensor for the flow detector.
