Elevator speedometer
EC-2100

The EC-2100 elevator speedometer is a small, lightweight, battery-powered, handheld speedometer designed for elevator adjustment, maintenance, and inspection. Compared to the previous model (EC-900), it doubles the measurement range (up to 2000 m/min) and reduces calculation time to 1/10 (10 ms), supporting speed and rotation measurement of high-speed elevators. Simple and accurate measurements can be performed by lightly pressing the peripheral speed ring against the elevator wire rope. The display uses a highly visible red LED, allowing for easy reading of measurements even in dark places. Furthermore, by fixing the EC-2100 unit to a jig or using an external detector (EC-0201 option), inspection work can be performed by one person. In addition to the push-button switch on the unit, the EC-2100 can also hold the measurement value by inputting an external contact signal, allowing for safer work without being distracted by the display during measurement. Two displays hold and display two levels of measurement values. By adding the EC-0202 distance measurement function (optional), it can be used as a handheld distance meter to measure the distance (mm) traveled within a specified time. Furthermore, by adding the EC-0202 distance measurement function (optional) and a trigger device (EC-0203 option), it can also be used to measure the emergency stop distance of escalators.

Features

  • With a maximum measurement range of 2000 m/min and a minimum calculation time of 10 ms, it enables high-speed speed and rotation measurement.

  • The memory function allows you to save up to 10 sets of data.

  • Standard equipment includes analog output and pulse output.

  • The maximum value hold function holds the maximum value being measured.

  • The averaging function averages speed and rotation speed measurements (the number of averaging cycles can be set arbitrarily from 1 to 200).

  • Auto power off, battery level indicator function

  • The EC-0202 distance measurement function (optional) measures the distance traveled within a specified time (the sign can be arbitrarily set for the direction of rotation).

  • Remote measurement is possible using the external detector EC-0201 (optional).

  • By attaching the KS-300 rotating contact (optional) to the tip, it can also be used as a contact-type handheld tachometer.

Elevator speed measurement

Elevator speed measurement

The speed is measured by pressing the peripheral speed ring against the governor's pulley or rope. By pressing the hold switch [1][2] on the main unit or using an external hold signal, the speed data at that moment is measured and displayed independently.

Maximum measurement
Pressing the [DISP] switch on the main unit will display the maximum value being measured on the lower screen. Maximum value hold measurement is possible.

Memory function
The measured values are saved to the device. When measuring rotational speed (m/min, r/min), CH 1, CH 2, and MAX values are saved. When measuring distance (mm), the measured value, sign, and rotation direction are saved. Saved data can be read in setting mode using the [MENU] switch.

Measurement of emergency stop distance for escalators (distance measurement function EC-0202* + trigger device EC-0203*)

※option

  • Escalator emergency stop distance measurement (distance measurement function EC-0202* + trigger device EC-0203*) No. 1
  • Escalator emergency stop distance measurement (distance measurement function EC-0202* + trigger device EC-0203*) No.2

This device measures the emergency stop distance of an escalator. By pressing a speed ring against the handrail, it measures the distance traveled when the escalator makes an emergency stop. The sign for the direction of rotation can be set, allowing for consistent signage for both upward and downward movement.

  1. When using the trigger device EC-0203 (optional)

Connect the trigger device terminals to the escalator and the connector to the elevator speedometer (EC-2100). Pressing the button on the trigger device will start the escalator's emergency stop and the elevator speedometer's measurement. After the measurement is complete, the measured value will be held for 2 seconds to prevent miscounting.

  2. If the trigger device is not used

Measurement can be started and stopped by pressing the hold switches [1] and [2] on the main unit.

Measurement (distance measurement function EC-0202*)

※option

Measurement (distance measurement function EC-0202*)

Measurement is performed by pressing the peripheral speed ring against the object. The start and stop timing of the measurement is controlled by a switch on the main unit. The rotation direction can be set, and it supports counting up and down. After the peripheral speed ring stops, the value is automatically held after 2 seconds (auto-stop function) *1.

*1 The auto-stop function can be disabled by modifying the EC-2100 unit.
