Handheld Digital Tachometer
HT-6200

Various detectors sold separately

The HT-6200 Handheld Digital Tachometer is a battery-powered, handheld tachometer that integrates the measurement and display units to measure the engine speed of gasoline/diesel engines and the motor speed of EVs/HEVs.
Depending on the object being measured and the application, it is possible to measure the rotational speed of the target rotating object by combining it with various separately sold detectors (VP-220/1220 engine rotation detector, IP-292/IP-296 or IP-3000A/IP-3100 ignition pulse Electromagnetic Detector Electromagnetic Detector, TTL signal output detector, etc.). The measurement data can be stored in the unit's memory function, up to a maximum of 20 data points, for convenient later review.
The measurement parameters include multiple items such as rotational speed (r/min, r/s), cumulative rotational speed (count), period (ms), and peripheral speed (m/min). Both analog output (switchable with monitor output) and pulse output are standard equipment. The analog output can be used for recording with a data recorder, etc. (the monitor output can be used for checking sensor waveforms or as an input signal for analysis with an FFT analyzer), and the pulse output can be used as a signal for tracking analysis with an FFT analyzer.

Please note:
The HT-6200 may not be able to measure certain engine and motor types, or the measurement range may change depending on the type of engine and motor.
For engines and motors that have no prior usage history, please request a demo unit for testing. To request a demo unit, please contact your nearest sales office.

*Please prepare your own batteries.

Regarding the installation of the detector
Regarding the installation of the detector

When conducting driving experiments with the detector attached to the engine or motor, be sure to clean the motor surface with a degreasing agent, and use fixing brackets or similar to wrap the detector and cable around the engine or motor with wire or similar material, and secure them firmly with duct tape before use.
The OM-0102 has a hole for attaching a fall prevention wire; please use it. For safety reasons, please take sufficient measures to prevent the device from falling.

Applications

Gasoline Engine Tachometer

Tracking analysis of noise and vibration
Tracking analysis of noise and vibration

The pulse output signal from the HT-6200 can be used for tracking analysis.
By simultaneously measuring acoustic and vibration data with the pulse signal from the HT-6200 using an FFT analyzer, it is possible to perform order ratio analysis and other similar analyses.

(Measurement may not be possible for engines with 6 or more cylinders.)

EV/HEV motor rotation measurement

Hybrid vehicle motor rotation measurement No. 1
Motor rotation measurement for hybrid vehicles

By using the EV/HEV motor rotation detector (OM-1200), it is possible to measure the rotation of the motors in electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles.

The detector is mounted perpendicular to the motor's rotation axis.
The measurement principle involves detecting and measuring the leakage magnetic flux generated from the motor.
Measurement can be easily performed by simply attaching the detector to the outside of the motor.
No drilling of holes for the detector is required.

You need to set the number of poles (pulse count P/R) of the motor on the HT-6200.

Hybrid vehicle motor rotation measurement No. 2

Actual driving tests of hybrid vehicles
Using two HT-6200 units, the rotational speeds of the motor and engine were measured, and the speed was measured using a GPS speedometer (LC-8100).

Motor rotation measurement for electrical components

Motor rotation measurement for electrical components
Motor rotation measurement for electrical components

The motor rotation detector (OM-1200) can be used to measure the rotation speed of motors in electrical components such as power steering motors and air conditioning fan motors.

The detector is mounted perpendicular to the motor's rotation axis.
The measurement principle involves detecting and measuring the leakage magnetic flux generated from the motor.
Therefore, measurements can be taken even when the axis of rotation is hidden.

The pulse output signal from the HT-6200 can be used for tracking analysis.
By simultaneously measuring acoustic data and the pulse signal from the HT-6200 using an FFT analyzer, tracking analysis becomes possible.
