Digital Torque Meter
TQ-5300

The TQ-5300 calculation display unit, when used in combination with a flange-type high-rigidity detector, can convert the detector's pulse output into digital torque values and analog voltage outputs. Three types of digital interfaces (optional) are available for the digital output. In addition to the RS-232C digital interface found in previous models, EtherCAT and CAN interfaces are now included, enabling faster digital communication. Using these digital interfaces, the high-precision torque measurement values inherent to the torque detector can be output directly. The analog output employs a periodic calculation method that converts each pulse cycle, enabling high-speed response. Remote I/O, communication, and interlock functions are standard features for convenient system integration. Furthermore, it supports multi-range measurement (optional), allowing multiple torque capacities to be set with a single torque detector.

Features

3 types of digital output

High-precision output of torque measurement values

By using digital output, torque values can be output with the torque detector's inherent accuracy.

  • High-precision output of torque measurement values
EtherCAT

Digital interface (optional)

EtherCAT (TQ-0535)
CAN (TQ-0533)
RS-232C (TQ-0532)

Supports multi-range measurement function

When measuring different torque capacities, it was previously necessary to switch to a torque sensor corresponding to the torque capacity. However, by using the optional multi-range function (TQ-0536), multiple torque capacities can be set with a single torque sensor without having to change the torque sensor. Range switching can be easily done by pre-entering information such as the torque sensor's factor and capacity.

  • Up to three different torque capacity settings are possible.

  • Switchable via menu or external mode.

  • When switching ranges from an external mode, the current range can be confirmed via the set range confirmation output, thus preventing measurement errors.

  • Supports multi-range measurement function

* If using the multi-range specification, there are conditions depending on the torque range used, so a consultation is required before ordering.

High-speed response analog output

The flange-type high-rigidity torque detector changes the signal output frequency from the detector according to the detected torque amount. The torque calculation display calculates the frequency corresponding to the detected torque amount for each cycle and outputs it as an analog signal with high-speed response.
The high-speed response analog output tracks rapidly fluctuating transient torque, enabling more optimal control.

Equipped with analog output for rotation speed.

Torque and rotational speed values can be output simultaneously as analog values.
By using the optional TQ-0531, you can output torque in two channels. For example, if you want to use separate outputs for control and recording, you can output them on a single calculator/display unit.

If the torque value exceeds the set value, it is considered an abnormality and a contact output is generated, allowing it to be used as an interlock. It has a total of 3 output channels: 2 channels with freely adjustable settings and 1 channel that outputs when the torque exceeds 110% of the maximum value. Additionally, the 2 freely adjustable channels can be assigned to rotational output.

Case Studies

Engine test bench

We provide data to accurately reproduce virtual loads on an engine bench. By using the TQ-5300 equipped with a digital interface, it is possible to obtain highly accurate and responsive torque data.

Transmission testing equipment

From engine durability testing to efficiency testing, a single torque sensor can perform measurements using its multi-range function. Because there's no need to install separate sensors tailored to different torque values depending on the test, stable measurements can be achieved without changing the test conditions.
