Digital Gauge Counter
DG-4320/DG-4340

DG-4320
DG-4320
DG-4340 (with comparator)
DG-4340 (with comparator)

The DG-4320/DG-4340 digital gauge counters receive signals from linear gauge sensors and precisely measure and display dimensions and displacements. With added new functions necessary for measurement, such as calculation and condition saving, they excel in in-line measurement in production environments.
* The display example for DG-4340 (in red) shows the case when the comparator fails.
When the result is OK, it will be displayed in green, just like the DG-4320.

Features

  • Ono Sokki Compatible with all linear gauge sensors (except GS-3800B series)

  • Features include multiplier switching, panel condition memory, and MAX, MIN, and RANGE calculations.

  • Compatible with 12V power sensors (optional).
It also counts single-phase pulse signals from devices such as rotation detectors and signals from encoders.

  • Equipped with a 3-channel comparator function, it can determine whether a component or product passes or fails (DG-4340).
When the comparator is activated, the backlight of the display screen changes to red to clearly indicate this.

Connection and communication

The BCD output of the DG-4320/DG-4340 is, in principle, equivalent to the pin assignment and connector of the DG-4140.
However, due to the inclusion of new features, pins that were previously unused in older models are now being used. Also, the comparator output terminal found on the DG-4240/DG-4280 is absent.

Case Studies

Pass/fail determination using a 3-channel OK/NG comparator function.

By detecting the height of the screw, you can check how tightly the screw is fastened.
Equipped with three OK/NG comparators, it can handle three different sizes of screws.

  • Pass/fail determination using a 3-channel OK/NG comparator function.

Pass/fail determination using a 3-channel OK/NG comparator function.

In inspecting the flatness of a part, a sensor is placed against the object and rotated once.
You can easily measure flatness by looking at the RANGE value (MAX-MIN).

Length measurement using pulse counter function

The length of paper or steel plates is measured using a rotary encoder attached to the feed roller.
By using the multiplication switching function and factor setting function, you can convert the pulse output from the encoder into length.

  • Length measurement using pulse counter function

Automatic detection using BCD output function

This function determines whether the dimensions of the machined parts are within the specified range. The BCD output can be imported into a PLC, and sorting can be performed based on the measured values.
