Digital Torque Meter
TS-2800

The TS-2800 is a torque calculation display unit designed for use in combination with our phase-difference torque detectors, including the SS series.
It supports both the long-selling SS series torque detector (potential gear phase difference method) and the TH series torque detector (electromagnetic induction phase difference method).
Because the signal processing circuit uses entirely digital processing, it enables torque measurement with excellent stability, reproducibility, and linearity.
The TS-2800 digitally displays measured values and can output analog voltage, rotational pulse*, BCD*, and RS-232C to external devices. Its compact size means it doesn't take up much space when mounted on a control panel, and it fits neatly next to control equipment within the panel. *Optional

Features

  • All of our phase difference torque detectors can be connected.

  • Depending on the application, you can select the response time (time constant) of the analog output.

  • A 4th-order Butterworth low-pass filter can be selected for torque ripple frequency analysis (TH mode, optional).

  • The full-scale voltage of the torque output signal can be selected to match the input range of the connected device or recorder.

  • It can output rotational pulse signals necessary for rotational tracking analysis of torque ripple (optional).

  • The adoption of an LCD screen makes it easier to see measurement values and setting menus, improving usability.

Case Studies

Torque ripple of a small motor at different rotational speeds (rotational speed tracking analysis)

Due to changes in the magnetic flux linkage of the motor, the motor's torque fluctuates repeatedly with a constant period and a constant amplitude. Torque ripple refers to the range of torque fluctuation during motor rotation. By understanding the torque ripple at each motor rotation speed, it is possible to derive solutions to problems such as noise and vibration, and deterioration of controllability generated by the motor.

Evaluation of hinge torque characteristics of office automation equipment, mobile phones, etc.

We measure the torque characteristics of hinges used in a variety of applications, including household appliances such as rice cookers and microwave ovens, office automation equipment such as fax machines and photocopiers, and mobile phones and laptop computers.

  • Controlling the force required for opening and closing

  • This is effective for automation and labor saving by analyzing changes in hinge characteristics after prolonged use through tens of thousands of opening and closing tests.
