For customers who want to start monitoring and diagnosing equipment abnormalities and pass/fail judgment of products.

Do you have any of these problems?

■ Equipment Diagnosis
Judgments vary depending on the five senses used for inspection.
Failure to notice equipment malfunctions leads to breakdowns and production stoppages.

■ pass/fail judgment
Auditory test results vary.
Anomalies cannot be captured numerically.

The VC-2200/VC-3200 vibration comparators are high-performance signal processors that take output signals from Accelerometer as input and can check vibration levels, detect machine anomalies, and determine vibration levels. Their simultaneous 2-band (VC-2200) / 3-band (VC-3200) digital signal processing capabilities enable detection, measurement, and judgment for each type of anomaly.

* The photo shows the main unit (VC-2200/VC-3200), Accelerometer (NP-3331N20), cable (NP-0143), and magnetic base (NP-0100).
* Accelerometer (NP-3331N20), cable (NP-0143), and magnetic base (NP-0100) are sold separately.

Simple setup procedure

Features

Band (frequency band) customizable setting function

The key is to extract the necessary information from the entire vibration data.

By extracting anomalies specific to the target object, level determination becomes more reliable. Two types of bands can be set. RMS and peak values can be selected for each band. Simultaneous measurement and simultaneous determination are possible.

Judgment function (comparator output)

Judgment based on quantitative values

Based on the measured results, a numerical judgment is made, and a judgment (NG) signal is output. It is ideal for line inspection and remote monitoring in combination with PLCs and other systems.

Analog output function

Supports detailed analysis as well.

AC and DC signals are output simultaneously for each set band. This can be used for analysis with an FFT analyzer or recording to a recorder.

headphone connection

Listen and decide: For those who are curious about "this sound"

By connecting commercially available headphones, you can clearly hear the vibration sounds for each set band. This makes it possible for even ordinary workers to perform the skilled task of distinguishing abnormal sounds.

Comparator gate input

Detecting necessary information in the right time

By controlling the timing of measurements, it is possible to measure and judge levels at the necessary time. It is used for automated judgments such as pass/fail judgment of products on a production line.

TEDS function

Prevents configuration errors! Reduces setup burden when replacing sensors!

Case Studies

Product pass/fail judgment by vibration

Product pass/fail judgment by vibration

We will use vibration to pass/fail judgment of the bearings.

The bearing is rotated, and the vibration value at that time is used for assessment. By focusing on the frequency band, the nature of the bearing defect (scratches, foreign matter contamination, unbalance, etc.) can also be identified. In addition to Accelerometer, velocity sensors are also used. When using a velocity sensor, the VC-2200/VC-3200 is switched to external signal input.

Detection of abnormal machine operation

Detection of abnormal machine operation

Detection of abnormal runout in the spindle of a machine tool

Spindle runout in machine tools significantly affects the finishing accuracy of workpieces. Ideally, spindle runout should be measured with a displacement gauge, but environmental conditions, handling requirements, and cost considerations make its use difficult. The VC-2200/VC-3200 detects spindle abnormalities through vibration, making it robust against environmental conditions and allowing for continuous monitoring. As spindle runout increases, so does the vibration value; therefore, spindle runout abnormalities can be detected by monitoring the vibration value.

Equipment monitoring

Equipment monitoring

It automatically detects and identifies abnormalities in bearings, gears, and other components.

Traditional equipment diagnostics required significant labor, as workers periodically measured vibrations in bearing boxes and other components, and determined maintenance timing for bearings and other parts based on changes in vibration values. Furthermore, sudden malfunctions could lead to accidents such as equipment damage. A vibration comparator, however, continuously monitors equipment vibrations on behalf of workers, reducing labor costs and preventing equipment damage in the event of an anomaly. Additionally, the ability to select frequency bands allows for monitoring that more closely resembles a diagnostic assessment.

Tool blade breakage and wear detection

Tool blade breakage and wear detection

Detects breakage of drills, cutting tools, etc., in machine tools operating unmanned.

In large-scale parts processing using NC machines and other automated systems, most operations are automated. If a drill bit breaks during operation, the processed part becomes defective, requiring reprocessing, or in the worst case, being discarded. The VC-2200/VC-3200 vibration comparator detects vibrations caused by bit breakage and stops the machine, minimizing the production of defective parts. Furthermore, since bit wear affects processing accuracy, monitoring changes in vibration values due to wear helps improve processing accuracy.

Features inherited from previous models (VC-2100/VC-3100)

With analog output AC and DC signals for each set band are output simultaneously.
This can be used to connect to analysis devices such as FFT analyzers and recorders.
Comparator delay time setting If vibrations exceeding the detection level persist for longer than the set time, the comparator will output a signal.
This prevents malfunctions caused by human error, such as when an operator accidentally hits the sensor with a tool.
Digital display function The vibration value is displayed digitally, and the vibration state is simultaneously displayed as a bar graph.
It can also be used as a conventional needle-type (meter display) vibration meter.
Comparator gate input This is used for automated judgments, such as pass/fail judgment of products on the production line.
By controlling the timing of measurements, it is possible to measure and judge vibration phenomena as needed.
Simultaneous detection of 2 bands (VC-3200 has 3 bands) Two different bands (frequency ranges) can be set, and the determination can be made based on either the RMS value or the peak value for each band.
Because the judgment is made based on vibration values, even more complex discriminations can be easily performed.
headphone connection You can hear the vibrations by connecting commercially available headphones.
It can be used as a substitute for a stethoscope. Furthermore, since the output is divided into set bands, it's possible to check each phenomenon individually.
Compact size of DIN 96 x 96 This design is intended for integration into control panels. It condenses the functionality of more than two units into this compact size.
Memory function included (VC-3200 only) The condition memory function allows you to store multiple settings when the power is turned off, enabling quick measurement when the power is turned back on. Additionally, the data memory function allows you to store measurement data.
