Contact and contactless digital handheld tachometer
HT-5500

HT-502 Contact Adapter + KS-300 Rotating Contact
HT-5500 / HT-502 Contact Adapter / KS-300 Rotating Contact

This advanced, high-performance, handheld tachometer combines advanced rotational measurement technology, boasting a sophisticated body fully equipped with features, and offering both contact and non-contact measurement capabilities. It measures multiple parameters including rotational speed (r/min/r/s), cumulative rotations (count), peripheral speed (m/min/contact/non-contact) (mm/s/contact), and period (ms). It comes standard with both analog and pulse outputs; the analog output is for recording with data recorders, while the pulse output can be used as a tracking analysis signal for FFT analyzers. This wide-range, high-function handheld tachometer can measure rotations from low speeds (6.0 r/min) to high speeds (99,999 r/min).

Features

  • Rotational speed measurement range: 6.0 to 99999 r/min
Wide range covering from low-speed to high-speed rotation.

    • Lo range 6.0 to 600.0 r/min (displayed to one decimal place)

    • Hi Range 6-99999 r/min

  • Dual-purpose type that can measure both contact and non-contact.

  • The memory function allows you to save up to 20 data files.

  • Even with a non-contact method, peripheral speed measurement is possible simply by setting the diameter of the rotating body.
(Contact type is possible by attaching a peripheral speed ring (KS-100/KS-200))

  • It is possible to count the total number of rotations.
(For contact-type counters, 1 rotation equals 1 count; for non-contact counters, 1 reflective mark equals 1 count, up to 99999)

  • Standard equipment includes analog output and pulse output.

    • Analog output 0-1V/0-FS (FS is arbitrarily configurable), 10-bit D/A conversion

    • Pulse output: Hi: +4.5V or higher, Lo: +0.5V or lower

  • Can be used with AC power (when using AC adapter PB-7090)

  • Hold function for maximum and minimum values of rotational speed, period, and peripheral speed.

Measurement time Within 1 second + 1 cycle time (however, if the rate is 60 r/min or less, approximately twice the cycle time (Max))
Display update time Approximately 1 second
Measurement accuracy Displayed value (*) × (±0.02%) ± 1 count
*The displayed value is the count value excluding the decimal point.
(Note) The accuracy of peripheral speed measurement depends on the rotational speed of the rotating body. The above measurement accuracy is for non-contact measurement.
Furthermore, errors due to camera shake are not included. During contact measurements, the slippage and precision of the contact element are also factors.
Peak hold function Maximum value (MAX), minimum value (MIN)
Memory function Up to 20 data
Overrange function An overrange (ERROR) mark is displayed when the measured value exceeds the display range.
Rotation limit warning function When the rotation speed exceeds a preset upper limit, an upper limit warning (↑ mark) is displayed.
Circumferential speed calculation function Peripheral speed is calculated from a preset diameter value (mm) and measured rotational speed (non-contact method).
(For contact-type measurements, use peripheral speed rings KS-100/KS-200.)
Calculation function The number of pulses in the input signal is accumulated and counted.
Period measurement function Measure the period of the input pulse (however, if it is less than 1 second, measure the average value of the input pulse).
