Digital Flow Meter
FM-3100

Achieves high-speed output that responds to transient flow rate changes.

In engine development, there is a demand for highly accurate flow rate measurement in the low flow rate range and evaluation of fuel consumption characteristics during transients. The FM-3100 is a digital flow meter that outputs measurement data at high speed when combined with various detectors (FP, FX, FZ series, small Fuel Density Meter).

Features

1. High-speed response output 1 ms (analog / CAN)

It can capture transient flow rate changes and output analog and CAN outputs at a 1 ms update rate.
Compared to the previous model FM-2500A's 100 ms response time, this model offers faster response times, making it suitable for checking the rise of instantaneous flow rates and measuring fuel flow rates during transient operation.

  • Injector flow rate measurement

High-speed response → Allows for the representation of changes in fuel injection flow rate.

2. Enhanced CAN external control New

We have enhanced the ability to control the FM-3100 externally using CAN.

Set the cumulative time using CAN communication.

Setting the cumulative time via CAN communication No. 1

Previously, changing the total stop time (Total Time) of the Auto Stop function required RS-232C communication, but now it can also be changed via CAN communication.
Since cumulative operations (such as Start and Stop) can already be performed using CAN, for applications where continuous testing is performed by switching the cumulative stop time, the necessary external communication can be unified to CAN only, simplifying the system.
Command 06: Adds the cumulative time setting. The cumulative time can now be set externally. The Auto Stop cumulative time setting, which could previously only be changed via direct operation or RS-232C, can now be changed via CAN.

Setting the cumulative time via CAN communication No. 2

Use the CAN In ID (default value: 0x601) to set a numerical value.
Command 06: Outputs the cumulative time setting to the FM-3100 and sets the cumulative time.

Easily perform repeated measurements.

01 start
02 stop
03 hold
04 Reset
05 Reset + Start NEW

[CAN command]

Add the 05: Reset + Start command to the CAN input commands.
Repeated measurements can now be easily performed.

3. New Supporting pressure sensors in various ranges.

The input voltage and pressure ranges can now be freely set. You can measure pressure using your own pressure sensor.

4. New Simultaneously output volumetric flow rate and mass flow rate from analog output.

Simultaneous output of volumetric flow rate and mass flow rate from analog output.

In the single-module configuration, the analog output now allows the use of not only OUTPUT 1 but also the flow rate from OUTPUT 2. This enables simultaneous analog output of both volumetric flow rate and mass flow rate.

5. Improved reliability of the measurement process (optional) New

To ensure the reliability of measurement data, a password lock function will be added to the settings of each parameter that affects the measurement data.
Additionally, it automatically records the change history of some parameters. This allows you to quickly identify when a setting error occurred if one is discovered.

Changes to the FP series, such as changing the Factor or the OUTPUT scale, which affect the measurement data, will require a password.

Change history function

Change history function

When you change the Factor of the "FM-0311 FP Module" or the Zero CAL and Low Flow Cut of the "FM-0321 FZ Module," the date and time of the change and the changed values will be automatically saved, allowing you to check them later.
