Arbitrary Physical Quantities & Judgment Processing - Cylinder-Specific Analysis Function Enhancement (DS-0328 Standard Software)

This function is effective in cases where multi-cylinder measurements are performed on actual vehicles or test benches. We have added the capability to analyze the combustion state for each cylinder using the ignition signal/fuel injection signal/air intake and exhaust pulsation signal output from the ECU for combustion control for each cylinder.
Even if the number of analysis items significantly increases and the effort to organize data increases, the analysis data can be linked by cylinder, allowing users to organize the desired analysis data without mistakes.

DS-0335 SYNC measurement function

The DS-2000 series / DS-3000 series combustion analysis devices have long supported customer testing with the engine start-stop measurement mode for vehicles equipped with idle stop systems and hybrid vehicle engine unit tests. In recent years, there have been more instances of conducting mode tests such as JC08 mode and NEDC mode in conditions closer to complete vehicles for performance evaluation.

The SYNC measurement function is a feature that allows for more effective utilization of the previous start-stop measurements.
※ DS-0329 knocking analysis function cannot be used simultaneously.

DS-0360 Encoder-less Measurement Function No.1

Encoder-less Measurement Function

By converting real-time time angle, a new algorithm based on a small number of pulses (8 to 360 P/R) angle signals has been established, enabling stable measurement even during acceleration and deceleration, and allowing measurement without an encoder.

There is no need for an encoder for crank angle detection, and it becomes possible to measure crank angle signals (missing tooth pulse signals) for the ECU and small pulses from ring gears, etc. Additionally, delays are also corrected.

  • Angle pulse: 8 to 360 P/R

  • Missing teeth: 0 to 4 points per location (if 0, then 1 P/R signal is required).

Note: Please confirm the specifications of the angle pulse signal (amplitude, shape) before purchasing.

With long tooth pulse response, combustion analysis can now be performed on engines that could not be measured before.

Torque Fluctuation Analysis Function

  • DS-0361 Torque Variation Analysis Function No.1
The diagram below is a graph created using an absolute angle text file (abs format).
  • Torque Variation Analysis Function No.2

Calculation Customization Function

Calculation Customization Function

You can create arbitrary expressions that can be easily integrated as basic functions of combustion analysis.

DS-0365 INCA link function

DS-0365 INCA link function

Functionality that enables link measurement with the ETAS engine compatibility tool INCA
allows for time-synchronized measurement of ECU performance data and combustion analysis system calculation data.

  • Data communication over LAN (TCP/IP sockets)

  • It is possible to synchronously measure ECU performance data and the combustion data below, linked with the engine bench.

It is optimal as a function when you want to efficiently perform engine compatibility
※ Measurable data: cylinder pressure, cylinder pressure rise rate, combustion mass fraction position, heat generation rate, IMEP, NMEP, etc.

  • Measured data can be converted into the MDF file format through INCA and saved.

Due to the ASAM-compliant file format, standardization for managing data from other measurement instruments is easy.

DS-0383 CAN Measurement Function No.1

DS-0383 CAN Measurement Function

The importance of CAN data, which supports automotive control, is increasing, and it can be synchronized with combustion analysis data to confirm measurement results for each cycle.

DS-0383 CAN Measurement Function No.2

Support for test output and database file output has been implemented.

Integration with OS-2000 series (time-series data analysis software)

The combustion analysis software can now output TDMS files, which are an ASAM-compliant file format. The TDMS file contains actually measured angle-axis data, such as in-cylinder pressure signals, and per-TDC calculation data that allows for checking time-series changes in combustion calculation results (NMEP, mass fraction burnt position, etc.).
By importing this TDMS file into the OS-2000 series, it is now possible to analyze phenomena by scoping into the angle-axis data at key points while checking the time-axis changes of the combustion calculation results within the OS-2000 series.
Since the OS-2000 series can also import performance data files (.thd) measured by FAMS and ECU data (.mf4) measured by ETAS INCA, it is possible to perform analysis by cross-referencing data from all three sources alongside the combustion analysis.

  • Integration with OS-2000 series (time-series data analysis software)

* TDMS file: A file format produced by National Instruments (NI), consisting of a hierarchy of files/groups/channels, compliant with ASAM measurement data standards.
