High-Performance Sound Level Meter
LA-7000シリーズ

The LA-7000 series sound level meter is a noise meter that significantly improves operation through the adoption of a large color LCD touch panel, allowing for easy and intuitive operation to start measurements.

In addition to measuring and calculating the original noise level, the LA-7000 series also allows for "measuring while listening to the sound" during measurement. By listening to the sound, it is possible to check the condition of the target object, explore sound sources, and confirm whether the recording was successful. This enables safe and reliable measurements in environments where mistakes are not allowed.

Moreover, by equipping options, it evolves not only as a sound level meter (noise meter) but also into a sound analyzer, frequency analysis, and sound recorder* . (*Optional)
With one LA-7000 series sound level meter, it is possible to conduct noise measurements, sound recording, frequency analysis, and sound source exploration of abnormal noises, greatly improving the efficiency of measurement tasks.

Furthermore, by combining the data saved with the LA-7000 series and our diverse analysis software, it becomes possible to perform 'waveform analysis', 'sound quality evaluation', 'fluctuating sound analysis', and 'sound frequency simulation'.

1/1 Real-time octave analysis function Standard feature

RTA1/1 mode
RTA1/1 mode

This is one of the frequency analysis modes, displayed in octave bands. The vertical axis represents sound pressure level (loudness), while the horizontal axis represents frequency (pitch). It allows for a quick visual assessment of which pitches are louder. Additionally, it is possible to overlay the memory data from RTA1/1 with the MAIN data for comparison.

Filter1/1 mode
Filter1/1 mode

By listening to the sound through the octave band filter, it is possible to hear only the sounds of interest even in noisy environments.
It helps to point the microphone and locate the source of unwanted noise.
Additionally, you can compare the sound pressure levels of Allpass (full band) and Bandpass (specific band).

Applicable Standards IEC 61260-1:2014 Class 1 / JIS C 1513-1:2020 Class 1
analysis band 16 Hz ~ 16 kHz (11 bands), Allpass1, Allpass2

Memory Mode Manual, Auto, Logging, Record* ( * when LA-0704 is attached )
Overlay function RTA mode *

The Octave function includes an Overlay function, which allows for the overlaying of RTA memory data with measurement data (raw data).

Background noise correction function RTA mode *

It can be used when you want to correct for background noise at the site during noise measurement.

Background noise correction is
the sound pressure level measured while the target device is operating, which is a composite value of the sound from the device and the background noise. Subtracting the influence of background noise from this measurement to calculate the radiated sound pressure level of the target device is called background noise correction.

Ambient noise correction function RTA mode

Points to note
It is important to obtain sufficiently stable values in the measurement of background noise levels.
In frequency bands, if the background noise data becomes larger, correction cannot be applied and it will not be displayed.

*The overlay function and background noise correction function can also be used with RTA1/3.

convenient features

calibration history function

Calibration is emphasized as an important task for verifying the performance of a sound level meter. Before measurement, an acoustic calibration (confirmation using an acoustic calibrator) is performed. In that case, having a calibration history makes management much easier.

Convenient Function 1

Sound Quality Evaluation Function LA-0708A Option

In noise level evaluations, there are cases where the results differ from human hearing. In such cases, sound quality evaluations such as loudness values can be a very effective means.
Loudness is effective for evaluating the volume of sound as perceived by humans.
Sharpness is effective for looking at metallic, high-pitched, unpleasant sound components.

The CI value* is a value that takes into account the time-averaged sound level and sharpness. It is simple and effective for applications involving environmental noise and mechanical sounds (dental drills). (Further studies are being conducted regarding the scope of application in the future.)
The LA-0708A sound quality evaluation function is intended for steady sounds. For non-steady sound loudness, please use the sound quality evaluation software of the OS-2000 series.

* CI (Comfort Index) is one of the sound evaluation metrics based on the research of Professor Sonoko Kuwano.* CI is the sum of the "sharpness value" and "1/10 of the A-weighted time-averaged sound level." There are correlations with environmental noise and mechanical noise, and it is considered effective as a measure of unpleasant sounds. The scope of application is still under review, so please use it as a reference value.

*8 As a general rule, we replace the certification conducted at the time of shipment with a "Standard Compliance Certification Mark" through self-inspection.
For products after shipment, we request inspection from the Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA) after conducting checks and adjustments at our company (General sound level meter: ¥15,300 (tax-exempt) + ¥22,900 (excluding tax) Precision sound level meter: ¥23,000 (tax-exempt) + ¥35,400 (excluding tax)). Additionally, since we standardize products without certification, customers who wish to have products with certification (Standard Compliance Certification Mark) and those who wish for inspection by public institutions from the time of shipment should inform us of this at the time of product order.

Sound and Vibration Analysis System O-Solution/DS-5000

Detailed analysis by analysis mode.

Detailed analysis by analysis mode.

By importing data recorded with the LA-7000 series (+LA-0704) in wav format into O-Solution, you can play back sound, perform frequency analysis, and conduct octave analysis on your PC.
Additionally, by using an IIR filter (optional), it is also possible to listen to the sound after filtering while playing back the recorded sound.

as a signal input source for the DS-5000

as a signal input source for the DS-5000

Instead of using a microphone, you can perform real-time analysis by inputting the analog output of the LA-7000 series into the DS-5000. The LA-7000 series can output two types of signals simultaneously: one with acoustic filters (such as type A characteristics) and a flat signal (type Z characteristics), allowing for simultaneous analysis by the DS-5000.

Sound Quality Evaluation Function OS-0525

Sound Quality Evaluation Function OS-0525

The OS-0525 sound quality evaluation function allows for the assessment of various sound quality metrics that correspond to different auditory sensations, taking into account human hearing characteristics, such as 'loudness', 'sharpness', 'roughness', 'variability strength', and 'tonality'.

Fluctuating Sound Analysis Function OS-0526

Fluctuating Sound Analysis Function OS-0526

The fluctuation sound analysis function OS-0526 can extract only the significant components of time variation that are not affected by level, allowing for the quantification of various characteristics of time-varying sounds that were difficult to detect in terms of roughness or fluctuation intensity. It also includes a feature to compare sounds with fluctuations to those without (fluctuation sound simulator).

Time-Frequency Analysis Function OS-0527

Time-Frequency Analysis Function OS-0527

FFT analysis can evaluate transient phenomena that are difficult to capture. It can clearly display the time variation of frequency components while maintaining frequency resolution. It is equipped with short-time Fourier transform and wavelet transform.

Calibration

To ensure the accuracy of the values measured by the measuring instrument, it is necessary to calibrate the instrument at appropriate intervals. Only by using a calibrated instrument can the reliability and stability of the obtained measurement values be enhanced. High-performance sound level meters have three calibration services: ASNITE calibration, JCSS calibration, and general calibration.
