CF-5200 Frequently Asked Questions
Question number FAQ-0398
The level trend was displayed by applying the A characteristic within the FUNCTION. The overall value of the level trend at a certain point in time differs from the overall value of the original data (1/3 OCT data) at that point in time.
The A-weighting function in FUNCTION is a feature that applies A-weighting processing to the raw data spectrum (measured data) and displays it.
In this case, the original data displayed using 1/3 OCT has A-weighting applied. The measurement data from the real-time analysis does not have A-weighting applied.
The level trend data displays this measurement data, so the difference between A-weighting on and off will be apparent.
To obtain A-weighted measurement data
(1) Select FILTER: A WAIGHT in the Real-Time Octave menu.
(2) Select A-weighting on the sound level meter.
There are two ways to do this.
