CF-3600A/3800A Frequently Asked Questions
Question number FAQ-0273
The point clicked on the screen and the cursor position are misaligned.
You can launch "PenMount DMC900 and DMC9100 Utilities" from the Start menu to align the clicked point with the cursor's position.
- Launching Utilities
From the Start menu, select "All Programs," and then click "Control Panel" under "PenMount DMC900 and DMC9100 Utilities" in the list. The "PenMount Control Panel" will open, so click the leftmost tab, "Calculate."

There are two methods: "Standard Calibration" and "Advanced Calibration." If "Standard Calibration" is insufficient, please proceed with "Advanced Calibration."
- Operation of "Standard Calibration"
Select “Standard Calibration” as shown below.
The CF-3600's touch panel (screen) will change to the "Touch the red square" screen, and blue arrows with red dots at their tips will appear sequentially on the screen, as shown in the image below. Touch the red dots at the tips of the blue arrows in order from 1 to 5. Using a touch panel pen is recommended for touching. Do not use sharp objects (such as mechanical pencils), as this may scratch (tear) the touch panel.
Touching buttons 1 through 5 in sequence will automatically perform the adjustments, returning you to the original screen (the state before pressing the StandardCalibration button).
- Operation of "Advanced Calibration" (extension)
If "Standard Calibration" is insufficient, perform "Advanced Calibration" using the following procedure.
As shown in the image below, the default value to the right of “Advanced Mode” is “9,” which performs calibration on 9 points on the screen. Also, if you check “Plot calibration data,” the calibration results will be displayed after the calibration is complete.
Select “Advanced Calibration”. The CF-3600's touch panel (screen) will change to the “Touch the red square” screen, and blue arrows with a red circle in the center will appear sequentially on the screen, as shown in the image below. If the “Advanced Mode” value is the default “9”, touch the red dots in the center sequentially from 1 to 9. Using a touch panel pen is recommended for touching. Do not use sharp objects (such as mechanical pencils), as this may scratch (tear) the touch panel.
Touching the dots in sequence will automatically perform the adjustments. Finally, clicking the tenth red dot on the screen will return you to the original screen (the state before pressing the Standard Calibration button).
The mark with a red circle in the middle animates from the left state to the right state until you touch it.
If "Plot calibration data" is checked, the calibration results will be displayed after the calibration is complete.
The blue grid lines shown above represent the calibration results. If there is a significant discrepancy (a large difference between the touch point and its position on the software screen), the blue grid lines will appear curved. However, even if the lines appear curved, if you test the device after calibration and find no problems, the calibration process is complete.
Touching the screen will return you to the original screen (the state before pressing the Standard Calibration button).
