Changing the measurement force of a linear gauge sensor
At our company, the measuring force is defined as the force exerted by the measuring probe of a linear gauge sensor against the object being measured. This measuring force is generated by a spring built into the linear gauge sensor, and the return force when the spindle is fully depressed is used as the measuring force. The unit is expressed in Newtons (N), and the measurement method conforms to JIS B 7503 Dial Gauge. Please refer to this link for the definition of measuring force.
The measuring force can be changed by replacing the built-in spring, which is useful when you want to reduce the measuring force for a deformable object, or when you want to increase the measuring force to make the spindle return more easily when using a linear gauge sensor mounted horizontally or upwards.
Please refer to the table below for the adjustable range of the measuring force (excluding the BS-1210/1310 and GS-7710 series).
If you wish to change the measuring force, please request this when purchasing the linear gauge sensor.

3. Ensure it returns completely when used in an upward position.
Standard modifications cost ¥15,000 (excluding tax) and take approximately 10 days to complete.

Constant pressure modification is the process of making the measuring force, which normally varies depending on the spindle position, constant throughout the entire stroke (within ±0.1 N, without dustproof rubber).
