AA-6100/6101 Air Lifter Instructions for Use

This product is an air lifter specifically designed for GS-1513, 1513A, 1530, 1530A, 1613, 1613A, and 1630.

■Installation Method

The installation diagram for the GS sensor on the air lifter is shown below.

*When using tools, be careful not to overtighten the screws.
*Please use a thread locker adhesive on the screw threads.

 

  • Remove the cap from the linear gauge sensor. When doing so, leave the O-ring inside the cap attached to the sensor.
  • Screw the mount (1) onto the threaded part where the cap was removed to secure it.
  • Screw the (2) set screw (cap screw) into the air port hole (M5 female thread) of the (3) air lifter to push out the (4) joint pin.
  • Push the spindle of the linear gauge sensor in and screw the joint pin (4) into the screw (M2.5 female thread) at the top of the spindle. You can screw it in with your fingers, but it is recommended to use a tool. Be careful not to apply too much adhesive to the joint pin (4), as this may affect the movement of the sensor.
  • Screw the (3) air lifter onto the screw thread (M8 male thread) of the (1) mounter. Please note that overtightening will impair the movement of the spindle.
  • <(2) Slowly remove the set screw (cap screw)>.
  • Secure the included speed controller to the air port hole (M5 female thread) of the <(3) Air Lifter>.
  • Once the above installation is complete, the linear gauge sensor spindle will be in a retracted state. When air is supplied from the speed controller, the spindle will return to its original length due to the force of the spring built into the linear gauge sensor.
    (The spindle pressure will be the same as the catalog value.)

 

 

■ Driving Precautions

 

(1) When air is supplied

    • Adjust the spindle's operating speed using the speed controller.
      If the speed is too fast, it will damage the object being measured. Also, if the spindle exceeds the maximum response speed of the GS sensor, the counter will display an error (the digital display will flash).
    • Please use an air filter to supply clean air.

(2) Others

  • To adjust the spindle return speed, attach an exhaust throttle valve (SSU4/Koganei) as close as possible to the speed controller to adjust its movement.
  • Avoid getting water or oil directly into the hole in the center of the air lid.
    (Air Lifter is not covered by IP64.)
  •  
  • Using excessive amounts of adhesive to prevent loosening can cause it to enter the bearing and lead to malfunction. Please pay close attention to the amount of adhesive applied and where it is applied.
  • Due to the structure of the air cylinder, after being stopped for a long period of time or in a cold environment, the response time from when the solenoid valve turns ON until it starts up may be poor for a while. Also, when it starts up, it may suddenly jump out and the speed control may not work, so please perform a test run before taking measurements.
