Recommended circuit for the DG-4240 and DG-4280 BCD receivers.

The DG-4240 and DG-4280 BCD OUT have similar circuit configurations.

This shows the recommended interface for connecting the BCD OUT to external devices such as sequencers.
For BCD connector pinouts, please refer to the DG-4240 BCD OUT specifications and the DG-4280 BCD OUT specifications.

■When connecting to a sequencer

<1> BCD OUT

 

The BCDout signal is an open collector output, so connect the sequencer to an open collector input unit (with a voltage of DC 12-24V). Note that connecting the external power supply with reversed polarity will damage the BCD output circuit.

<2> Hold input, reset input signal

 

The BCD connector input specifications for the DG-4240/DG-4280 are for voltage signal input, so it is recommended to connect the sequencer to a voltage output unit (such as TTL).
When driven by open collectors or relay contacts, malfunctions may occur due to noise or other environmental factors at the site.
For input via contacts, we recommend using terminal block inputs.
