Accelerometer Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-1384

Will using Accelerometer in an alternating magnetic field affect it?

Using Accelerometer in an alternating magnetic field may cause malfunctions due to the magnetic field. For example, if the magnetic field is alternating, as in NSNS, it may cause apparent oscillations of the magnetic field's period. The degree of the effect varies depending on the model.

(example)

The NP-3210 has a power output of approximately 0.001 m/ rms/Gauss

1 Gs (Gauss) = 10⁻⁴ T (Tesla) = 0.0001 T
