Regarding the use of NP-3210 wax
Is the "frequency range" specified in the catalog based on the value when the device is attached with wax? Also, does the wax soften depending on the temperature of the object being measured? If it softens, will it affect the performance? |
The frequency range specified in the catalog is for when the components are fixed with super glue.
When installed with wax, the frequency range is affected by the thickness of the wax. Please refer to the instruction manual for the frequency characteristics.
The wax softens at around body temperature (36 degrees Celsius). Above this temperature, it will soften and melt, and its frequency response will also deteriorate. Please keep the wax's operating temperature to around body temperature.
Warm the wax with your fingertips to soften it, roll it into a ball about 2 mm in diameter, place it on the object to be measured, and attach it by applying a thin, even layer with the NP-3210. As the wax cools, it hardens, securely fixing the NP and improving the frequency response.
If the object being measured is magnetic, I would like to use a magnet to attach the pickup. Are there any problems with this? The method would be to attach the pickup to a small magnet (using super glue) and then attach the magnetic surface to the object being measured. |
There is no problem. The frequency response is affected by the degree of contact between the magnet and the object. If there is no horizontal vibration and only vertical vibration, it is possible up to nearly 10 kHz. The NP-0102 magnet base can be combined with an optional flat table, and the NP-3210 can be attached to the flat table.
