Is it possible to take measurements at frequencies outside the NP-3110's operating frequency range (5Hz to 15kHz)?
In the specifications section of the NP-3110 Accelerometer catalog:
Resonance frequency 40kHz
Frequency range: 5 kHz to 15 kHz
The following is stated. Looking at the characteristic table included with the detector, the graph with frequency on the X axis and sensitivity on the Y axis shows a gentle curve, flat (within 3 dB) from 5 Hz to 15 kHz, with a peak around 40 kHz. The attenuation increases significantly above 40 kHz.
Measurements around 40 kHz become unstable due to resonance in Accelerometer itself, but this indicates that sensitivity improves (output voltage becomes higher than actual) between 15 kHz and 40 kHz. While it can be used to simply check for high-frequency vibrations without regard for accuracy, a model with a higher resonant frequency is preferable.

When attaching Accelerometer to a measurement target, there is a problem called contact resonance. When Accelerometer is attached using a magnetic base, double-sided tape, adhesive, or screws, and the output of the Accelerometer is measured relative to the measurement target, the frequency characteristics will be similar to those of the Accelerometer alone, but the resonant frequency will vary considerably depending on the mounting method. Generally, Accelerometer. When measuring high frequencies, great care must be taken when attaching Accelerometer. Moving in conjunction with the measurement target is fundamental to Accelerometer mounting. (Please refer to the instruction manual.)
Weight
When the object being measured is lightweight, the weight of Accelerometer itself may affect the measurement. It is necessary that the accelerometer's weight be less than 1/100th, or at least less than one-tenth of the object's weight.
