When measuring the acceleration of a lightweight object, the weight of the acceleration pickup itself can affect the measurement.

The natural frequency of an object can be simply expressed by the following formula:

(Hz) m: mass k: spring constant

Therefore, attaching Accelerometer to the object being measured increases the "m" value by the weight of Accelerometer, affecting the frequency response.

The weight of Accelerometer must be less than 1/100th, or at least less than one-tenth, of the weight of the object being measured.

If the weight of Accelerometer is a problem, non-contact measurement methods such as LV series Laser Doppler Vibrometer are effective.
