LV-0012 has numerous spherical micro glass beads adhered to a reflective substrate, and due to the light retroreflective effect of these beads, incident light returns in the direction of the light source.

HT-011 also has numerous spherical micro glass beads attached to the reflective substrate, but it additionally features a surface coating.

This coating causes the laser light to reflect and refract in front of the glass beads, which reduces the retroreflectivity of the laser beam. As a result, stable measurements can no longer be achieved.
