Frequently Asked Questions about Laser Doppler Vibrometer
Question number FAQ-1357
Can I use reflective sheets other than LV-0012?
We also sell a reflective sheet called HT-011 for use with photoelectric rotational speed detectors and as reflective markings for handheld tachometers. Although it looks similar to LV-0012, its structure is different, and therefore it is not suitable for use with Laser Doppler Vibrometer.
reason
LV-0012 has numerous spherical micro-glass beads attached to a reflective substrate, and due to the light reflection effect of these beads, incident light is returned towards the light source.
(Regarding the ray recurrence effect)(Please refer to the LV series FAQ, "What is the reflective mark LV-0012?")
The HT-011 is similar in that it has many spherical micro-glass beads attached to a reflective substrate, but it also has a surface coating.
This coating causes the laser beam to reflect and refract in front of the glass beads, reducing the reflectivity of the laser beam. As a result, stable measurements become impossible.
