Settings for connecting the TS-2700 to a PC via RS-232C (Windows XP version)

This guide explains how to connect the RS-232C output of the TS-2700 to a Windows XP computer.

  • Prepare an RS-232C cable to connect the TS-2700 to your computer and connect it. Set the MEAS/LOCK switch on the front panel of the TS-2700 to "MEAS," and if the optional TS-0221 is installed, disable its internal settings.
  • Turn on only the computer and start Windows XP.
  • Go to [Start] → [All Programs] → [Accessories] → [Communications] → and select [HyperTerminal] with your mouse. A window will open asking "Do you want to make this the default Telnet program?" Click "No".
  • The "Connection Settings" window will open, displaying "New connection. Enter a name and select an icon." Enter "TS2700," select a suitable icon, and click OK.
  • The content of the "Connection Settings" window will change to a prompt for entering phone number information. Here;
    Connection method: Select "COM1" and click OK (if you have an RS-232C cable connected to COM1).
  • The "COM1 Properties" window will open, allowing you to configure the port settings.

  • Click Apply → Click OK → The "TS-2700 - HyperTerminal" window will open.
  • From the menu, click [File] → [Properties].
  • The "TS2700 Properties" window will open.
  • Click the "Settings" tab and make the following selections and settings.
    Check the terminal key.

    After that, you can start communication by turning on the T TS-2700 and entering commands on your computer.

Termination operation

1) Click [File] → [Exit HyperTerminal].

2) "You are currently connected. Do you wish to disconnect?" → "Yes"
"Do you want to save the connection named "TS2700"?" → "Yes"

Next time, perform steps 1 and 2 above, and in step 3, after selecting "Communication," you will see a folder called HyperTerminal; click on TS-2700 within that folder. After that, turn on the TS-2700 and communication will be possible. You can also place an icon on your desktop and launch it by double-clicking the icon.
