This explains how to connect the RS-232C output of the TS-2700 to a Windows XP computer.

• Prepare an RS-232C cable to connect the TS-2700 to the computer. Set the MEAS/LOCK switch on the front panel of the TS-2700 to 'MEAS', and if the optional TS-0221 is installed, make sure to disable the internal settings.
  
• Only turn on the power to the computer and start Windows XP.
• Select [Start] → [All Programs] → [Accessories] → [Communications] → [HyperTerminal] with the mouse. A window will open asking, "Do you want to make this the default Telnet program?" Click "No."
• The "Connection Settings" window opens, displaying "Please enter a name for the new connection and select an icon." Enter "TS2700," choose an appropriate icon, and click OK.
• The content of the "Connection Settings" window will change to input the phone number information. Here;
  Connection method: select "COM1" and click OK (if you have connected the RS-232C cable to COM1).
  
• Open 'the properties of COM1' to configure the port settings.

• Click 'Apply' → Click 'OK' → The 'TS-2700 - HyperTerminal' window will open.
  
• Click on [File] → [Properties] from the menu.
  
• The 'TS2700 properties' window will open.
  
• Click on the 'Settings' tab and make the selections and configurations below.

  Check the terminal key, how to send the Backspace key	Any setting is acceptable.

  Next, turn on the power of the T TS-2700 and input commands on the computer to establish communication.

1) Click on [File] → [Exit HyperTerminal].

2) "Currently connected. Would you like to disconnect?" → "Yes"
"Would you like to save the connection named 'TS2700'?" → "Yes"

From the next time, please perform steps 1 and 2 above, and in operation 3, after 'communication', you will see an item (folder) called HyperTerminal, so click on TS-2700 within it. After that, turning on the power of TS-2700 will enable communication. Additionally, if you place it as an icon on the desktop, you can start it by double-clicking the icon.
