To perform N-0 (zero-point correction setting for each rotation speed) on the TS-2600, connect the TS-2600 and the CPU via RS232C and use the HyperTerminal function included as standard in Windows 95. A proprietary RS232C signal cable is required.

Next are the steps to start up HyperTerminal.

1. Prepare an RS232C cable to connect the TS-2600 to your computer and connect it.
2. Start Windows 95.
3. Go to Start → Programs → Accessories → HyperTerminal and select Hypertrm.EXE.
4. A HyperTerminal window will open, so launch it.
5. If you see the message, "You must install the modem before connecting. Do you want to start the installation?", press No.​
6. When the connection settings window opens,

   Enter "TS-2600" as the name (N), select an icon of your choice, and press OK.

7. When the phone number window opens,

   Connection Method (N): Select either Direct to Com1 or Direct to Com2, then press OK.

   
   

   This setting allows you to select the COM port number to which the RS232C cable is connected. Please check the connector number on your CPU.

8. The COM_ properties will open, allowing you to configure the port settings.

   bits per second (B): 9600
   Data bits (D): 8
   Parity (P): None
   Stop bit (S): 1
   Flow control (F): Xon/Xoff

   Enter or select the above information and press OK.

9. Select File (F) → Properties (R) to open the TS-2600 properties window, then select the [Settings] tab and configure the following settings.

   Select the terminal key.

   
   

   Emulation (E): VT100

10. Press Encoding Method (I) to open the Host System Encoding Method window.
    

    Select Shift JIS (S) and press OK.

11. Press ASCII Settings (C) to open the ASCII Settings window, and then configure the following settings.

    [Sending in ASCII]
    Add a newline character at the end of the line (S)
    Local echo (E)

    Check the box.

    [Receiving ASCII]
    Add a newline character to the received data (A)
    Fold back at the right edge (W)

    Check the box and press OK. Press OK again to close the currently open window.

12. Go to File (F) → Save As (A).

    The file name already contains "TS-2600," so press save.

13. Turn the TS-2600's power off once, and then turn it back on.

    This connects the CPU and the TS-2600 via RS-232C.

14. Enter ​"TRM" in uppercase (the entered characters will not be visible on the terminal screen) to activate the N-O correction value input screen. Follow the instructions in the TS-2600 instruction manual to perform the settings.
15. An icon for the TS-2600 has been created. If you need to perform N-O correction again at a later date, launch HyperTerminal and click the TS-2600 icon from File (F) to launch HyperTerminal. Perform the operation described in step 14 on that screen.
