Settings for connecting the TS-2600 to a PC via RS-232C (Windows XP version)
Setup Procedure
- Prepare an RS-232C cable to connect the TS-2600 to your computer and connect it.
For the TS-2600, turn the LOCK switch on the front panel to OFF, and if the optional TS-0220 is installed, disable its internal settings. - Turn on only the computer and start Windows XP.
- Go to Start → All Programs → Accessories → Communications → Select HyperTerminal with your mouse. A window will open asking "Do you want to make this your default Telnet program?" → Click No.
- The "Connection Settings" window will open and display "New connection. Enter a name and select an icon." Enter "TS2600," select a suitable icon, and click OK.
- The "Connection Settings" window will change to a prompt for phone number information. Select "COM 1" as the connection method and click OK.
(If an RS-232C cable is connected to COM 1) - The "COM 1 Properties" window will open, allowing you to configure the port settings.

- From the menu, click File → Properties.
- The "TS2600 Properties" window will open.
- Click the "Settings" tab and make the following selections and settings.
Check the terminal key.

Add a newline character to the received data.
Check the box at the right edge → OK → OK
After performing the above steps, power on the TS-2600 and enter commands on your computer to initiate communication.
Termination operation
- Click File → Exit HyperTerminal.
- "You are currently connected. Do you wish to disconnect?" → "Yes"
- "Do you want to save the connection named "TS2600"?" → "Yes"
Next time, perform steps 1 and 2 above, and in step 3, after selecting "Communication," you will see a folder called HyperTerminal; click on TS-2600 within that folder. After that, turn on the TS-2600 and communication will be possible. You can also place an icon on your desktop and launch it by double-clicking the icon.
Note
If your Windows XP PC does not have a COM 1 connector, you will need a dedicated RS-232C cable as well as a commercially available USB to RS-232C conversion connector.
