Settings Procedure

• Prepare the RS-232C cable to connect the TS-2600 to the computer.
  Set the LOCK switch on the front panel of the TS-2600 to OFF, and if the optional TS-0220 is installed, disable the internal settings.
• Only turn on the power to the computer and start Windows XP.
• Start → All Programs → Accessories → Communications → HyperTerminal. A window will open asking "Do you want to make this the default Telnet program?" → Click No.
• The 'Connection Settings' window opens, displaying 'Please enter a name for the new connection and select an icon.' Enter 'TS2600', select an appropriate icon, and click OK.
• The content of the "Connection Settings" window will change to input phone number information. Connection method: Select "COM 1" and click OK.
  (If you are connecting an RS-232C cable to COM 1)
• Open the properties of 'COM 1' to configure the port settings.

• Click Apply → Click OK → The 'HyperTerminal for TS2600' window will open.
• Click on File → Properties from the menu.
• The 'TS2600 Properties' window will open.
• Click on the 'Settings' tab and make the selections and configurations below.

  Check the terminal key, how to send the BackSpace key	Any setting is acceptable.

After performing the above operations, turn on the power of the TS-2600, and you can communicate by entering commands on the computer.

• Click in the order of File → Exit HyperTerminal.
• "You are currently connected. Would you like to disconnect?" → "Yes"
• "Do you want to save the connection named 'TS2600'?" → "Yes"

From the next time, perform steps 1 and 2 as mentioned above, and in the operation of step 3, there is an item displayed after 'communication' which is the (folder) hyperterminal. Click on TS-2600 within that. After that, turning on the power of TS-2600 will enable communication. Additionally, if you place it as an icon on the desktop, you can start it by double-clicking the icon.

Attention

If there is no COM 1 connector on a Windows XP computer, a dedicated RS-232C cable and a commercially available USB to RS-232C conversion connector are required.
