Torque Meter Frequently Asked Questions
Question number FAQ-1296
When starting up the TQ-1106/5200, the green indicator lights (both READY and SIG) do not light up. Turning the TQ-5200 power switch on/off and unplugging/replugging the power connector causes the lights to light up briefly before going out again. Please tell me how to fix this. Also, please tell me what might be causing this problem and how to check whether it is a malfunction or not.
Please check the following.
(1) Are the bolts on the stator ring loose?
(2) Are the rotor coil and stator rings misaligned?
(3) Is there any metal present in the metal-prohibited area around the stator ring?
(4) Is the power supply capacity sufficient?
(5) An inrush current of approximately 2 A flows during startup. Is there a limiter in the power supply being used?
If there are no problems with (1) through (5), it should normally start up.
If the device does not start, there may be a broken cable or a malfunction in the main unit, requiring an inspection and repair.
