How to change the display of a TS series torque meter from kgf·m to N·m units.

To change the display units of a TS series torque meter, follow these steps. Please refer to the respective instruction manuals for specific instructions. For unit system conversion factor calculations, please use the following calculation form.

Factor calculation formula

Enter the detector's Factor value (a 4-digit number) in half-width numerals into the following text box, and then press the Original Unit button.
The converted Factor will be displayed below.

The calculation of Factor is as follows:
N·m unit system, Factor = A
kgf·m unit system, Factor = B,
The calculations are performed using A = B × 0.9807 and B = A ÷ 0.9807.

* Entering full-width numbers will display "NaN".

(1) In the case of the old detector + TS-3600B/3100B
① (Factor in kgf·m units) × 0.9807 = (Factor in N·m units)
Set the Factor (in N·m units).

The detector nameplate lists the Factor in kgf·m units, so we will convert it to the Factor in N·m units.

(Example) (Factor in kgf·m units) = 8245 → 8086 (Factor in N·m units)

② Set the Capacity parameter to the N·m unit system instead of the kgf·m unit system.

(Example 1) To change the rating from 20 kgf·m to 200 N·m, set 20 → 200.
(Example 2) To change the rating from 50 kgf·cm to 5 N·m, set 50 to 5.

③ Change the UNIT (unit) display from "-" to the "N・m" symbol.
④ Perform ZERO adjustment.

(2) In the case of new detector + old TS (TS-800, 800B, TS3100, 3100A, 3600, 3600A)
The operation is the same as in (1), but the unit in ③ is set from "kgf・m" to "N・m".
(Note) Some models do not display the N·m unit system. Please place the N·m text over the kgf·m text.

(3) In the case of the new detector + TS-3600B/3100B
The procedure is the same as in (1). In step ①, the new detector's nameplate displays the Factor in N・m units, so set this value as is.

(4) In the case of the old detector + TS-2100/TS-2600/200/400/410
① (Factor in kgf·m units) × 0.9807 = (Factor in N·m units)
Set the Factor (in N·m units).
② Set RANGE to the value on the nameplate. (The value of RANGE is the same regardless of whether you use N·m or kgf·m units.)
③ Shift the decimal point by one decimal place.

(Example 1) To change the rating from 20 kgf・m to 200 N・m, set it from 20.00 to 200.0.
(Example 2) To change the rating from 50 kgf·cm to 5 N·m, set it from 50.00 to 5.000.

④ Prepare a label with "N・m" etc. and attach it to an appropriate place on the display.
⑤ Perform ZERO adjustment.

(5) New detector + TS-2100/2600/200/400/410
The procedure is the same as in (4), but in (1), the new detector's nameplate displays the Factor in N・m units, so set that value as is.
