How to set the TS series torque meter to display in N·m instead of kgf·m.
To change the display unit of the TS series torque meter, the following procedure will be followed. Please refer to the respective manuals for specific operations. Additionally, please use the following calculation form for unit conversion factors.
Formula for Factor
Please enter the detector's Factor value (4-digit number) in half-width digits in the next text box and press the original unit button.
The converted Factor will be displayed below.
The calculation of Factor is done using
N·m unit system Factor = A,
kgf·m unit system Factor = B,
A = B × 0.9807, B = A ÷ 0.9807.
If you input full-width numbers, it will display 'NaN'.
(1) For old detectors + TS-3600B/3100B
① (Factor in kgf·m unit system) × 0.9807 = (Factor in N·m unit system)
Set the (Factor in N·m unit system).
The nameplate of the detector lists the factor in kgf·m units, so it will be converted to N·m units.
(Example) (Factor of kgf·m unit system) = 8245 → 8086 (Factor of N·m unit system)
Set the capacity of the detector from kgf·m units to N·m units.
(Example 1) To convert a rating of 20 kgf・m to 200 N・m, set it to 20 → 200.
(Example 2) To convert a rating of 50 kgf・cm to 5 N・m, set it to 50 → 5.
Set the ③ UNIT (unit) display to " -" → " N・m " symbol.
Perform ④ ZERO adjustment.
(2) New detector + old TS (TS-800, 800B, TS3100, 3100A, 3600, 3600A)
It is the same operation as (1), but set the unit of ③ to "kgf·m" → "N·m"
(Note) Some models do not have a display in the N·m unit system. Please stick the N·m characters over the kgf·m text.
(3) New Detector + TS-3600B/3100B
The operation procedure is the same as (1). In ①, the nameplate of the new detector shows the Factor in N·m unit system, so this value is set as is.
(4) For old detectors + TS-2100/TS-2600/200/400/410
① (Factor in kgf·m unit system) × 0.9807 = (Factor in N·m unit system)
Set the (Factor in N·m unit system).
② Set the RANGE to the value on the nameplate. (The value of RANGE is the same for both N·m and kgf·m unit systems)
③ Shift the decimal point by one digit.
(Example 1) To convert a rating of 20 kgf・m to 200 N・m, set it to 20.00 → 200.0.
(Example 2) To convert a rating of 50 kgf・cm to 5 N・m, set it to 50.00 → 5.000.
④ Prepare a nameplate labeled “N·m,” etc., and attach it at an appropriate location on the display.
⑤ Perform ZERO adjustment.
(5) New Detector + TS-2100/2600/200/400/410
The operation is similar to (4), but in ①, the nameplate of the new detector shows the Factor in N·m unit system, so set the value as it is.
