Torque Meter Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-1247

Adjustment of matching and accuracy due to changes in the length of signal cables.

When the length of the cable changes, it mainly affects the accuracy due to the N−0 characteristic (which causes torque display even when the axis is rotating without load). The TS series displays have types equipped with an "N−0 correction function," allowing for the N−0 characteristic correction. Please use a dedicated cable with known characteristics during this process (for the EZ series pressure-resistant explosion-proof torque detector, please use the recommended cable).

Matching adjustments at the time of shipment are performed using electrical components such as resistors. We check the FACTOR (phase difference-torque proportional coefficient), N-0 characteristics, and overall accuracy, and attach a test report with each of these values recorded. If the cable length is more than 5 meters longer than the current length, we recommend conducting the same matching adjustment inspection (for a fee) as done at the time of shipment.

Accuracy when matching adjustment is made = "Rated torque value of the torque detector" × ±0.2% (when N−0 correction is ON)

Matching Adjustment

  • In the case of a new order with specified signal cable length
we use a new signal cable to perform matching adjustments between the detector and the display, and we attach a test report for delivery.
  • If you are currently using it, we will collect the detector and display unit, perform matching adjustments using a newly manufactured signal cable, and return them along with a test report.

Please use the specified signal cable. Estimates and production are done based on the specified length. The torque detector comes standard with a 5 m signal cable (for the EZ series explosion-proof torque detector, the user must provide the signal line within the explosion-proof area).
