Sound level meter - Frequently Asked Questions
Question number FAQ-1220
Data can be stored on the SD card for up to several hours.
Both Meas Time (measurement time) and Total Time (total measurement time) can be set to a maximum of 199 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds, while the minimum setting for Meas Time is 0.1 seconds and for Total Time is 1 second.
The memory mode has a function to automatically save measurement data repeatedly. For example, when measuring LAeq, you would set MeasTime (measurement time) to 10 minutes and TotalTime (total measurement time) to 24 hours. When you execute data saving with these settings, the LAeq calculation result data measured for 10 minutes will be repeatedly saved to memory for 24 hours. The number of data points is;

144 data points will be saved as a single file.
When the memory mode is set to "1TWAuto", one data entry records L p /L eq /L E /L MX /L MN /L pk, and the data size is 86 bytes. The data size of one file is 144 × 86 = 12384 bytes, but 367 bytes are added for management purposes, so the total is 12751 bytes (approximately 13k bytes).
If data is saved at 1-second intervals for 199 hours, 59 minutes, and 59 seconds (719,999 seconds), the total size will be 719,999 × 86 + 367 = 6,192,0281 bytes (approximately 60 MB).
If Total Time is set to 0, the measurement will be performed once, the file will be saved, and then the measurement will stop. The same applies when using the LA-0551 and LA-0552 real-time analysis functions. For information on the LA-0554 sound recording function, please refer to the separate FAQ.
