■Attaching the tripod and microphone extension cable
A tripod and microphone extension cable are used when it is necessary to further reduce acoustic influences such as reflections from the sound level meter itself or the person taking the measurement.

*The MI-0301 microphone holder is included with the microphone extension cable.
Instructions for removing the preamplifier and installing the extension cable.
- Turn off the sound level meter.
- Loosen the preamplifier fixing screws (LA-2560/5560/5570) by turning them counterclockwise. Carefully remove them along the connector on the main unit.
- Alternatively, while holding the BNC connector screw (LA-1410/LA-1440/LA-4440 main unit side connector), rotate the BNC connector counterclockwise to the release position, and then slowly pull the preamplifier upwards to remove it.
- Attach the preamplifier along the connector of the microphone extension cable and rotate it clockwise to secure it to the connector.
Mounting to a tripod
When attaching the sound level meter unit directly to a tripod, use the tripod mounting screw located on the back of the unit.
The screw on the bottom of the sound level meter is a camera tripod screw. It is a 1/4" nominal thread conforming to JIS B7103. (The sound level meter side has a female thread.)

If you are mounting the microphone and preamplifier separately from the main unit,
- Attach the microphone holder to the tripod.
- Attach the preamplifier connector of the extension cable to the microphone holder on the tripod.
