Installation of the tripod and microphone extension cable.
Tripods and microphone extension cables are used when it is necessary to reduce acoustic influences such as reflections from the sound level meter body or the measurer.

The MI-0301 microphone holder is included with the microphone extension cable.
Procedure for removing the preamp and installing the extension cable.
- Turn off the power of the sound level meter.
- Loosen the fixed screw of the preamplifier (LA-2560/5560/5570) by turning it counterclockwise. Slowly remove it along the connector side of the main unit.
- While holding the BNC connector screw (LA-1410/LA-1440/LA-4440 connector side), turn the BNC connector counterclockwise to align it with the position for release, and then slowly pull the preamplifier upwards to detach it.
- Attach the preamplifier to the connector of the microphone extension cable, aligning it and securing it by turning it clockwise.
Attachment to a tripod
To attach the sound level meter directly to the tripod, use the tripod mounting screw located on the back of the device.
The screw on the bottom surface of the sound level meter is a screw for camera tripods. It conforms to JIS B7103 and is referred to as a '1/4' screw. (The sound level meter side is a female screw.)

When installing the microphone and preamp away from the main unit,
- Attach the microphone holder to the tripod.
- Attach the preamp connector of the extension cable to the microphone holder on the tripod.
