Sound level meter - Frequently Asked Questions

Noise level (_LA: A-Weighted Sound Pressure Level) is a quantity that expresses the magnitude of noise by measuring the sound pressure level with frequency weighting (A-weighting). There are two measurement modes for noise level: instantaneous value and maximum value per second (TMAX1).

 

1. Measurement procedure using instantaneous value mode

To measure noise levels using instantaneous value mode, please follow these steps. For basic instructions on setting measurement conditions, please refer to the section on setting measurement conditions.

 

◆Operation

• 本器の測定条件を騒音レベル測定用に設定する。
  表示画面：標準画面 （パネルスイッチ［LIST］）
  周波数補正：A （パネルスイッチ［A / C / FLAT］）
  動特性 ：FASTまたはSLOW （パネルスイッチ［F / S / IMP］）
• 測定データ表示を騒音レベル（L_A）測定に設定する。
  パネルスイッチ［L_P/L_eq ...］を押し騒音レベル（L_A）を表示します。
• 測定モードを瞬時値モードに設定する。
  パネルスイッチ［2nd］を押し、パネルスイッチを機能2に切り替えます。次に、パネルスイッチ［Tact Max］を押し瞬時モード（INST）を設定します。
• Read the measured value from the digital display.

 

3. Measurement procedure using the maximum value per second display mode

The noise level measurement screen in maximum value per second display mode will show TMAX1. Please measure in maximum value per second display mode using the following procedure.

 

◆Operation

• 本器の測定条件を騒音レベル測定用に設定する。
  表示画面：標準画面 （パネルスイッチ［LIST］）
  周波数補正：A （パネルスイッチ［A / C / FLAT］）

• 測定データ表示を騒音レベル（LA）測定に設定する。
  パネルスイッチ［L_P/L_eq ...］を押し騒音レベル（L_A）を表示します。
• 測定モードを1秒間あたりの最大値表示モードに設定する。
  パネルスイッチ［2nd］を押し、パネルスイッチを機能2に切り替えます。次に、パネルスイッチ［Tact Max］を押し1秒間あたりの最大値表示モード（TMAX1）を設定します。
• Read the measured value from the digital display.
