Sound level meter - Frequently Asked Questions
Question number FAQ-1188
Charging the built-in battery, setting the calendar, and checking the installation of optional accessories.
1. How to charge the built-in battery
The sound level meter has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery (internal battery) for backup. This internal battery allows the meter to retain measurement data and time data for approximately 5 months. The internal battery automatically charges when the sound level meter is powered on. However, immediately after purchase, please charge the internal battery and set the calendar correctly using the following procedure.
■ Immediately after purchase
Immediately after purchasing the sound level meter, the built-in battery is either completely discharged or only minimally charged. Connect the AC adapter and leave the sound level meter powered on for at least 24 hours to fully charge it.
■Daily care
If you use it for more than about one hour per week, you don't need to charge it. If you use it very infrequently, we recommend charging it regularly, about once every three months.
<Memo>
- Immediately after purchase, be sure to charge the device before taking measurements. The built-in battery may be completely discharged or only minimally charged.
- The built-in battery used in the sound level meter is designed to withstand approximately 1000 full-charge and complete-discharge cycles. However, as a precaution, we recommend printing out important data or transferring it to a personal computer.
2. How to set up the calendar (DATE SET)
After the built-in battery has fully charged, please set the time on the watch by following these steps.
◆Operation
Pressing the [LIGHT] and [PAUSE/CONT] panel switches simultaneously while turning on the sound level meter will display the calendar setting screen. (See <3> Checking Optional Installations)
The cursor moves when you press the [FILTER FREQ] panel switch. The setting changes when you press the [LEVEL] panel switch.
Once the set calendar data is stored in memory, the screen returns to the normal measurement screen.
3. Confirmation of optional equipment installation
The calendar settings screen also displays whether or not options are installed. Options that are already installed on the device will have a mark (*) after their model name.
