Sound level meter - Frequently Asked Questions

The LA-1240/1250/1350/4350 sound level meters come with a windscreen as an accessory to reduce measurement errors caused by strong winds. Please use it when measuring noise levels from ventilation fans where strong winds directly hit the microphone, or when taking measurements outdoors.

 

■ Windbreak screen installation procedure

With the sound level meter powered off, slowly and gently insert the microphone into the windscreen until the tip touches the hole in the windscreen. For continuous measurements outdoors over extended periods, please purchase the separately sold all-weather windscreen (see the LA2000/5000 section).

When attaching or detaching the windscreen, please be careful not to shock the microphone.
