Data removal function settings

Overview of Data Deletion Functionality

The LA-1250/1350/4350 is equipped with a data removal function. This function allows for the elimination of sudden noise interference during measurements by incorporating a built-in buffer memory that temporarily stores measurement data from the past 10 seconds. It is capable of removing data for up to 10 seconds to ensure that such noise does not affect the measurement values.

When the panel switch [START] of the sound level meter LA-1250/1350/4350 is pressed to start measurement, the contents of the buffer memory are first initialized. Then, as the measurement time elapses, data is stored in the built-in buffer memory at 0.1-second intervals. However, once the measurement time exceeds 10 seconds, the oldest measurement data stored in the buffer memory is erased and overwritten with the latest measurement data.

From this, if the elapsed time range of the measurement data stored in the internal buffer memory is within a certain limit, it becomes possible to exclude any specific measurement data from being reflected in the measurement values. Furthermore, when data removal is executed, the elapsed measurement time displayed will decrease, and the measurement values shown will be those after the data has been removed.

Data removal procedure

When executing data removal, it will continue to remove data from the buffer memory in increments of 0.2 seconds, as shown in the following figure.

The maximum time for data removal is 10 seconds. However, if the measurement has just started and the elapsed time is less than 10 seconds, or if data is removed immediately after and not all data is stored in the buffer memory, only the portion of data stored in the buffer memory can be removed.

If you hold the panel switch [PAUSE] of the LA-1250/1350/4350 for more than 0.5 seconds, it will remove data from the buffer memory, going back 0.2 seconds for every 0.1 seconds held, up to a maximum of 10 seconds. During the data removal process, the pause mark (‖) will blink, and the elapsed measurement time will decrease.

• When the timer measurement is off, data removal can be done as many times as needed until the measurement is completed.
• When the timer measurement is ON, it functions similarly to when it is OFF, as long as it is within the set measurement cycle.

However, the next measurement will begin when the next scheduled start time is reached, even if the actual time of the previous measurement is insufficient.

When the hold on the LA-1250/1350/4350 panel switch [PAUSE] is released, data removal is interrupted at that point and switches to a pause state. At this time, the pause mark (‖) also stops blinking. If the LA-1250/1350/4350 panel switch [PAUSE] is pressed again in this state, measurement will resume.

Once all measurement data stored in the buffer memory has been cleared, holding down the [PAUSE] button on the LA-1250/1350/4350 panel switch will only result in the system automatically switching to a pause state.
