Regarding triggering via signal input to external terminals (PULSE/TRIG terminals)
The DR-7100 has a trigger function to control the start and stop of recording. There are two types of trigger signals:
A. Triggering via signal input to an external terminal (PULSE/TRIG terminal)
B. Triggering based on the magnitude of the signal input to a specific recording channel.
There are two methods, A and B, but here we will explain A. "Triggering by signal input to an external terminal (PULSE/TRIG terminal)" (hereinafter referred to as "external trigger").
*Preparation for external trigger measurement
1. In the "MENU" → "INPUT" → "CH_USE" section, set "EXT" to "TRG".
2. In the "MENU" → "TRG" → "TRG_MODE" section, select either "ONESHOT" or "REPEAT".
"ONESHOT"... The trigger function is deactivated once it has been activated.
"REPEAT"...This activates the trigger function for repeated use.
3. In the "MENU" → "TRG" → "TRG_TYP" section...
Select one of the following: "TTL+", "TTL-", "GATE+", or "GATE-".
4. Press the "TRG" button on the panel switch, then press the record button to enter trigger waiting mode.
External triggers can be divided into the following four categories:
1.TTL+
When a TTL-level voltage signal is input to the PULSE/TRIG terminal, recording will start at the rising edge of the signal. If no recording time is set, recording will continue until manually stopped, regardless of whether "T RG_MODE" is set to "ONESHOTO" or "REPEAT".
If only the recording time is set, the system will ignore any signals corresponding to the trigger signal during recording, according to the set value. If "TRG_MODE" is "ONESHOTO", recording will stop when the set recording time is reached. If "TRG_MODE" is "REPEAT", and the save mode is "AUTO", the system will wait for the next trigger.
If both recording time and interval time are set, the device will operate according to the set recording time and interval time, regardless of whether "TRG_MODE" is set to "ONESHOTO" or "REPEAT".

2.TTL-
When a TTL-level voltage signal is input to the PULSE/TRIG terminal, recording starts at the falling edge of the signal. The recording time is set according to the specified value, and any signals corresponding to the trigger signal are ignored during recording. If no recording time is set, recording will continue until manually stopped, regardless of whether "TRG_MODE" is set to "ONESHOTO" or "REPEAT".
If only the recording time is set, the system will ignore any signals corresponding to the trigger signal during recording, according to the set value. If "TRG_MODE" is "ONESHOTO", recording will stop when the set recording time is reached. If "TRG_MODE" is "REPEAT", and the save mode is "AUTO", the system will wait for the next trigger.
If both recording time and interval time are set, the operation will follow the set recording time and interval settings, regardless of whether "TRG_MODE" is set to "ONESHOTO" or "REPEAT".

3.GATE+
Recording starts when an external high-level signal is input to the PULSE/TRIG terminal. Recording continues as long as the high-level signal is continuously input and stops when the level drops to low. (The recording time setting is ignored, and the recording time is determined by the duration of the high-level signal.)
If "TRG_MODE" is set to "ONESHOT", the recording mode will end after one recording. If "TRG_MODE" is set to "REPEAT" and the save mode is set to "AUTO", it will wait for the next trigger and repeat GATE recording until the recording mode is manually canceled.
If the save mode is set to "MANUAL," the recording mode will be deactivated after a single recording, even if "TRG_MODE" is set to "REPEAT." To record repeatedly using trigger operation, press the record button.
GATE signal
HI level +2V to 5V
LOW level 0 V to +0.8 V

4.GATE-
Recording starts when a low-level signal is input to the PULSE/TRIG terminal from an external source. Recording continues as long as the low level signal is continuously input, and stops when the level becomes high. (The recording time setting is ignored, and the recording time is determined by the duration of the low-level signal.)
If "TRG_MODE" is set to "ONESHOT", the recording mode will end after one recording. If "TRG_MODE" is set to "REPEAT" and the save mode is set to "AUTO", it will wait for the next trigger and repeat GATE recording until the recording mode is manually canceled.
If the save mode is set to "MANUAL," the recording mode will be deactivated after a single recording, even if "TRG_MODE" is set to "REPEAT." To record repeatedly using trigger operation, press the record button.
GATE signal
HI level +2V to 5V
