How to measure the power spectrum when the overall power is at its maximum (MAX OA function)

The FFT analysis has a "max OA" function. The procedure is as follows. For instructions on how to create step 1, please refer to "Vibration Analysis Procedure".

■Operation

  1. The confugu board analysis system is constructed as shown in Figure 1 (Figure 1).

  2. Figure 1

  3. Insert the power spectrum graph into the measurement paper.
Figure 2 below shows an example of displaying four graphs: instantaneous time waveform, instantaneous power spectrum, MAX-OA power spectrum (x-axis Log scale), and a 1/3 octave bundled display of the MAX-OA power spectrum.

    Figure 2

    • Insert three graphs—instantaneous time waveform and instantaneous power spectrum—into the measurement paper. Perform a preliminary measurement using the instantaneous value display, and adjust the X and Y axis scales for easier viewing.
    • Set one of the three power spectra to the MAX-OA power spectrum.

Please note that MAX OA data will only be displayed after the "averaging measurement" process is completed.

    • Set one of the power spectra to MAX-OA bundled 1/3 octave (Figure 5).

Please note that the bundled 1/3 octave data will be displayed after performing the (3) averaging measurement.

  4. Averaged measurement
    • Click the ▼ button next to Average to open the Averaging dialog box (Figure 6).
Configure the settings as follows, and then click the OK button to confirm.

    Figure 6

    • Click the [Average] button to turn it on.
    • Click the [Start] button to begin the measurement.
The [Stop] button will automatically turn on after 10 seconds, stopping the measurement. The measurement results will be as shown in Figure 2 above. The "MAX-OA Power Spectrum" in Figure 2 displays the power spectrum when the overall value was at its maximum during the 10-second measurement period. The "MAX-OA 1/3oct bundled display" shows the MAX-OA power spectrum bundled into 1/3 octaves. Please note that to ensure accuracy when bundling to 1/3 octaves, the lower band will be cut off according to the frequency range.
