Frequently Asked Questions about Electromagnetic Detector
Question number FAQ-0866
Recommended gears for the MP-900 series
Module
The module (M) is used to express the size of a gear.
Module = (Diameter of the gear's pitch circle) ÷ (Number of teeth)
Pitch circle diameter: In the case of involute gears, this corresponds to the diameter of the circle located module M mm inside the tooth crest.
With 60 teeth and module 1,
Pitch circle diameter = 60 mm,
The outer diameter of the peak is 60 mm + 2 mm = 62 mm.
Recommended gear tooth profile and material
- To obtain the optimal output voltage for the MP-900 series, we recommend using involute gears.
- For materials, those with a strong magnetic attraction property, i.e., ferromagnetic materials, are suitable. If a choice is possible, we recommend S45C, SS400, SUS430, FC200, etc.
- We offer the MP-001 type detection gear.
- There are commercially available gears.
Example of a commercially available manufacturer: Kyoiku Gear Industry Co., Ltd.
- If manufactured, the dimensions of the gear and detector are shown in the diagram below.
