Features and Specifications of MP-981

(1) Detection from 0 r/min
(2) Compact, lightweight, and easy to install
(3) Outputs as a square wave from ultra-low speed to high speed (1 Hz to 20 KHz)
(Max 20000 r/min with a 60 P/R gear)
Square wave Lo: below 0.5 V, Hi: 5±0.5 V
(4) Output impedance: Collector output 300 ohms
(5) Detection gear: Ferromagnetic material (tooth width 3 mm or more, module 0.5 to 3)

Shape of the detection gear

The shape of the detection gear is recommended to be the same ferromagnetic material and involute gear as in the MP-900 series.
Optionally, the MP-001 type detection gear is available.
If you are manufacturing gears, please refer to the "recommended gears".

The figure below shows the output waveform for the tooth shape.
(B) and (C) may output 2 pulses for one tooth.

　

Measures for Special Gears

Please process the edge of the gear's end face to be smooth.

　

<Installation Method>

Please avoid installations like the one shown in the figure below, as there is mutual magnetic interference.
In case (A), install the modules with different gears close to each other.
In case (B), install two or more MP-981s close to one gear.
Please install them at least 35 mm apart.
