Fuel Flow Indicator Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-0833

Are there any precautions to take when supplying fuel to the FX series flow detector?

Please pay attention to the capacity of the fuel supply pump.

The FX series automatically recharges the tank with fuel (detector inlet: closed → open) while maintaining the same fuel consumption (detector outlet: open) when the fuel level in the internal tank decreases. Therefore, the flow rate supplied to the FX series must be the maximum consumption flow rate plus the recharge flow rate.
However, if the flow rate during charging is too high, it may overflow. Conversely, if the flow rate is too low, charging will take too long, and the device will not be ready for measurement.
To address such situations,

  • The fuel supply pump should be selected to have a discharge volume well exceeding the maximum consumption flow rate. (Measures to address insufficient charging flow rate)
  • We recommend installing a flow control valve at the fuel inlet of the FX series detector. (To prevent excessive charge flow)

Please also refer to the instruction manual, as it contains relevant information.
