Frequently Asked Questions about Fuel Flow Meters

Please pay attention to the capacity of the fuel supply pump.

the FX series will charge fuel into the tank while the fuel consumption remains the same (detector outlet: open) when the internal tank fuel level decreases (detector inlet: closed → open). Therefore, the flow rate supplied to the FX series needs to be the maximum consumption flow rate plus the charge flow rate.
However, if the flow rate during charging is too high, it may overflow. Conversely, if the flow rate is too low, the charging will take a long time to complete, and it will not reach a measurable state.
To address such cases,

• The fuel supply pump should be selected with a discharge capacity that sufficiently exceeds the maximum consumption flow rate. (Measures against insufficient charging flow rate)
• We recommend installing a flow control valve at the fuel inlet of the FX series detector. (This is a measure to address excessive charge flow.)
