How should I choose between CAN communication and RS-232C communication?
CAN communication allows for high-speed output with 1 ms updates, but the only CAN inputs (CAN commands) to the FM-3100 are Start, Stop, Hold, and Reset. The FM-3100's settings cannot be changed.
RS-232C communication allows for almost all setting changes and measurement data acquisition on the FM-3100, but it is inferior to CAN in terms of communication speed.
