O-Solution DS-5000 Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-0788

How do I register a user-defined filter?

The registration method differs for frequency weighting filters and noise reduction filters.

    • Frequency-weighted filter

Frequency weighted filters are frequency weights that users can create themselves when they want to use a special frequency weighted filter.
Please create a filter file according to the format below. The file format should be comma-separated CSV format.

Reference file (Hand-arm vibration measurement ISO 5349)

• FFT analysis: CSV file (fft_fwf_armvib.csv 14 KB)
Octave analysis: CSV file (octave_fwf_armvib.csv 14 KB)

Please register the file you created using the following procedure.

    1. Open [User-Defined Filter Registration] > [Frequency Weighting Filter] and click the Add New button.

    1. Add the file you created.
The registered filters will be displayed in a list as shown below.

    • Noise reduction filter

This is used when you want to remove (subtract) noise components from the measurement results.
To create a noise reduction filter, you need analysis results in ESUFEEL TEXT format.

    1. Export the analysis results you want to use as filters from the Analysis Data Manager or Graph Window in ESUFEEL TEXT format.
    2. Import the exported ESUFEEL TEXT file back into O-Solution and register it in the analysis data manager.
    3. Open [User-Defined Filter Registration] > [Noise Reduction Filter] and click the Add New button.

    1. The items you registered in the analysis data manager will be displayed, so select one and click [Register].

The registered filters will be displayed in a list as shown below.
