FFT Analyzer Basic FAQ

The overall value is the sum of the power in each frequency band of the analyzed power spectrum. In other words, it is the power value (mean square) of the time signal before analysis. For information on how to calculate the overall value using an FFT analyzer, please refer to the related sections.

One important point to note when calculating the overall value is that it is the sum of the power values (equivalent to ^V2) for each band of the power spectrum, not the sum of the linear spectral values (equivalent to V).

In our Ono Sokki FFT analyzer, at the far right of the power spectrum graph,The overall value is always displayed with a mark.
