I want to directly read the voltage signal from a sound level meter or microphone in dB (sound pressure level, Lp).
In sound measurement, factors such as microphone sensitivity, preamplifier gain (insertion loss), and microphone amplifier gain are involved, and the reference value is not 1 EU (the reference value for sound pressure level is 20 μPa). Therefore, FFT analyzers are usually calibration using a calibration signal (AC signal) from an acoustic calibration. In other words, the voltage level value of the AC signal (usually a sine wave) corresponding to the specified sound pressure level generated by the acoustic calibration is read by the FFT analyzer, and this value is converted to the specified sound pressure level value. This allows for direct reading of any peak or overall value of the power spectrum in terms of sound pressure level (unit: dB).
