FFT Analyzer Basic FAQ

The EU calibration function allows you to input the sensitivity value of the physical signal from the sensor into the FFT analyzer, enabling you to directly read the physical quantity on the vertical axis, such as the power spectrum. EU stands for Engineering Unit, which is the physical unit of the sensor. In other words, since the input signal is a voltage signal, you input (set) the sensitivity value, which is how many volts 1 EU represents.

The dB values of EU-calibration power spectra, like voltage values, are typically based on a reference value of 1 EU and are expressed as dBEU. That is, 1 EU equals 0 dBEU.

In the case of sound and vibration, however, this is not the case. For example, in the case of sound, 20 μPa is considered 0 dB, so caution is necessary.
