The average of the noise levels measured at four points is displayed: "The noise level of the object is measured at four locations (top, bottom, left, and right) and the average power spectrum is calculated."

The calculation formula is used to display the result. The average power spectrum when the noise of an object is measured simultaneously in four locations (top, bottom, left, and right) across four channels can be calculated using the following formula.

PWR1, PWR2, PWR3, and PER4 refer to the power spectra of channels 1, 2, 3, and 4, respectively.

For power spectra saved in a file, the data is displayed on the screen before calculations are performed. The calculation formula is entered by clicking the registered name of the screen data in the input data section of the calculation formula settings screen, or by typing it in using the keyboard. For example, in an 8-screen display, the screen data corresponds to DISP1 to DISP4 from the top left and DISP5 to DISP8 from the bottom left. The calculation formula is specified by the screen data display position.

This example shows how saved data is retrieved from screen 1 to screen 4, and the calculation results are displayed on screen 5.

■Measurement Examples

On the "Data Display → Layout Settings" page, select 8-screen display.

On the "File → Open Data" page, display the saved power spectra in Screens 1 through 4.

Click on the frame in screen 5 to activate it (the data text will turn blue).

Open the "Analysis → Formula Settings" page, create the following formula in DISP5, check "Calculate", and click the OK button. The calculation will be performed and the result will be displayed on screen 5.

The power spectrum data stores the squared value of the amplitude A (effective value). Based on this value, if the Y-axis scale is log, 10logA² is displayed, and if it is LIN, √A²is displayed.

The above formula performs the following calculation:

●When the Y-axis is on a LIN scale

●When the Y-axis is on a log scale (dB)
