When analyzing ORF data with the DS-0223 real-time octave software, the level momentarily increases at the beginning of the analysis, causing problems during averaging. How can this problem be resolved?

When analyzing an ORF file from the beginning or in the middle, the data is suddenly fed into the octave filter, resulting in an impulsive input. In this case, each frequency data point will have a higher sound pressure level than it should. This problem does not occur online because filtering is always applied. This is especially problematic when measuring very low noise levels and calculating the maximum value using averaging, as the initial sound pressure level will be the highest, preventing the true maximum value from being determined.

Offline processing ON/OFF buttonWhen it is OFF, the average start buttonClicking this will automatically turn the Offline Processing ON/OFF button ON.The analysis will then begin. However, this will introduce the effects of the filter. Therefore, first, turn the Offline Processing ON/OFF button OFF.From ONThen, delay it a little,Click to start the analysis. This allows for averaging after the effects of the rise have subsided. The delay time (not the operation time, but the time at the data analysis position) should be 0.5 seconds if the time constant is 10 ms.
