DS-2000 Frequently Asked Questions
Question number FAQ-0676
In the DS-0222 tracking analysis software, what processes do the "Peak Search" and "Order Band" tracking settings perform?
Both "Peak Search" and "Order Band" are functions that track the magnitude of order components as accurately as possible. They are effective when the order does not perfectly match the set analysis order or for constant-width tracking.
■Peak Search
Peak Search is a feature that uses the largest value set by Band Width for the degree being tracked as the tracking data.
■Order Band
Order Band is a function that uses partial overall values for the number of lines set by BAND WIDTH, centered on the specified order, as tracking data. Note that the BAND WIDTH function is active even when PEAK Search is OFF. Also, if both PEAK Search and Order Band are ON, a Peak Search is performed first, and then partial overall values for the width set by BANDWIDTH are calculated centered on that point.

If Peak Search is ON and Order Band is OFF, the data shown will be the one circled in red above. If Peak Search is OFF and Order Band is ON, the calculated partial overall value will be "1". If both Peak Search and Order Band are ON, the calculated partial overall value will be "2".
