When I measured the power spectrum using the DS-0221 with frequency weighting set to "A-weighting: ON," the values changed when I reopened the saved text file. Could some setting be influencing this?
Saving in text format saves the data values displayed on the screen exactly as they are. Therefore, if you measure with frequency weighting set to "A-weighting: ON" on the DS-0221 and save that data in text format, the data will be saved as "A-weighting: ON". If you open this text data again in the DS-0221 and set frequency weighting to "A-weighting: ON", a power spectrum with double A-weighting will be displayed. In this case, please use frequency weighting with "A-weighting: OFF".
Instructions for turning frequency weighting "A-weighting" ON/OFF
- Click on the current data (the data being measured) to activate it, then select "Analysis → Frequency Weighting → OFF" from the menu.
- Open and play the saved power spectrum text data.
supplementary explanation
The menu option "Analysis → Frequency Weighting → A-weighting ON" displays the results of a quadratic calculation applied to the original measured data. Saving in ".dat format" saves the original data. Therefore, when playing back data saved in ".dat format," setting "A-weighting: ON" will display the result after applying A-weighting once.
