DS-2000 Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-0671

Can I play the "***.rcd" file saved using the DS-0221's recording function with the standard Windows media player?

Files saved with DS-0221 as "***.rcd" cannot be played directly with the standard Windows media player. They must be converted to WAV files before playback.

For conversion, the XN-8100 measurement platform and XN-0850 recorded data editing software of the XN-8000 series measurement processing software "Repolyzer" are required. The XN-8100 series reads the "***.rcd" file saved with DS-0221, converts it to a WAV file, and saves it.

■ Procedure for converting files from "rcd" to "WAV" on the XN-8000

  • Start up the XN-8100.
  • Click the ▼ button to the right of FileRead on the remote control palette. The "Open File" dialog box will open. Select the extension ".rcd", specify the "***.rcd" file, and click the Open button (Figure 1).
