DS-2000 Frequently Asked Questions

Question number FAQ-0656

How can I use a sound level meter with the DS-0221 to observe the temporal changes in noise levels?

Use the DC output of the sound level meter. Assuming the DC output voltage is 2.5V at full scale and 0.5V corresponds to a level of 10dB, set the DS-0221 to DC for input coupling, set the unit name in unit calibration to "dB", and in the menu [Analysis] → [Calculation Function], if the sound level meter range is 100dB, enter the formula "TIME*20+50" in DISP1. If the sound level meter range is 90dB, the formula in DISP1 is "TIME*20+40", and if the range is 80dB, the formula is "TIME*20+30". This will display the level on screen 1.
